That's three crocodile attacks we've had recently. One fatal I think.

The croc population has been steadily rising since hunting was banned. Is that ban still justified? There is no risk to the crocodile population any more, and there is a good market for crocodile products. They should allow limited hunting to resume, at least near populated areas.

A 10-year-old girl who was mauled by a crocodile has suffered injuries to her arms, chest and back.

The girl, from West Busselton in Western Australia's southwest, was swimming off a charter vessel in the state's north when she was attacked.
Police said the crocodile struck about 1pm (WST) yesterday at Doubtful Bay on the Kimberley Coast.

The girl was travelling on the boat with her father and two other people, but it is not clear if they saw the attack.

Late last night, Acting Inspector Simon Dent said the girl's injuries were not believed to be life threatening.

She was airlifted to a pastoral station at Mount Hart, about 240km northeast of Derby, for examination by a doctor flying in from Fitzroy Crossing.

A study has discovered that in 1 in 3 unprovoked croc attacks up north, the victim was affected by alcohol. Which is a pretty useless discovery as 1 in 3 north queenslanders are probably affected by alcohol when camping/fishing etc anyway.
