Today's RE visit (pg ment)

Well, at least he didn’t give me the DE speech this time. But celebratory he was not. US did show a uterine pg with visible gestational sac. BW was progesterone 45 and HCG >7900 (can’t remember specifically). That was 2 days and knowing that the double rates decline over time, think that is ok (from 6501). But he was his conservative, cautious self. Said that it would be wrong to say that this is a viable pregnancy (of course, and it would also be wrong to say that it is not) Said we will know more after hearing the heartbeat next week. He will follow the pregnancy until 10 weeks and transfer me to a high-risk obgyn, who does the nuchal fold test, etc. Finally, finally, as we were saying our goodbyes, and I had my scrip for natal vitamins, he allowed the word to come out of his mouth, “Congratulations.” I smiled warmly and said, “Thank you”, cheerfully. Geez, was that so hard? I really do like him and feel grateful to have such a competent RE, but I guess I don’t pay him the big bucks to be gushy, huh? That is what this board if for ;)

Anyway, thanks for your encouragement and interest. I am still pregnant!
