I just had my first acupuncture treatment a few days ago, as I wrote below. The stinging wasn't unbearable or anything (hey, I'm a veteran at giving myself shots), but I can't say the experience was pleasant. My ears especially hurt as the needles went in. The needles stop hurting once they're in, but it does feel weird! So, I guess people have differing experiences with this.
