Response to Natural vs Drugs

I don't visit the boards as often as I used to and just got back on after about a week. I wanted to respond to this post and also the post below about naturapathy.

First off I have always been someone who prefers to go natural with everything in life and have for most of my life. I am 44 and have not had problems in the past in getting prg, just keeping the prg. However in the past year I have not been able to get prg on my own, so I decided to try meds.

The RE I was working with put me on 6 vials of repronex a day and I responded really well. Don't remember now exactly how many folllies I produced but I think it was about 7 with 3 or 4 being a good size when I triggered. I have to tell you that my body did not respond well to the after effects of taking repronex. My cycles were completely messed up for 3 -4 months and I didn't ovulate for 2 of those months. I have NEVER had such whacky cycles, after having been so regular (every 28 days like clockwork for a long time now) and I didn't like it.

In my research I have found that it is much more prevalent that women over 41 get prg naturally than with meds, and I would have to think really long and hard if i ever did meds again. Look at Julie: she is 44, almost 45 and never did meds in her life and just kept at it month after month and finally she is prg!!! I believe that all the recent BFPs on this board are natural.

That is not to say that other women don't do just fine with meds. I cannot speak for anyone else, I can only tell you my experience.

Regarding homeopathy, rather than self prescribe I would most definately look for someone who has a really good reputation and get bloodwork. then and ONLY then would I take his/her advice on what herbs/homeopathy might work for you. My naturapath who is world famous and is AMAZING is really upset about people self prescribing when they don't know what they need. EVERY body is different and their hormones are different. He has been treating people for 30 years and was also an MD in France so he has a lot of experience.

By the way, he treats people remotely, so if you are interested I can give you his info. My email address is [email protected]

I wish you the very best in your efforts to hold a little one in your arms!!!

hugs
