My mom and DH are a little dissappointed but I am thrilled! I just love my DS to distraction and the thought of another son makes me very, very happy. Plus, I have to admit, for my own selfish reasons, I believe that the DE issue is a bit less complicated with a boy. I don't have to fret about getting, or not, a mini-me. And I think that typically boys have fewer issues of self and identity when they get older so hopefully the fact of DE will be less to grapple with.
BTW, I'm really only 19 wks but I was off schedule somehow and my OB let me come in a week early
I was an only child and I always thought my mom would have preferred that I were a boy!!!! But she did end up "adopting" my DH, LOL. Please keep us posted on your progress. If you don't mind me asking, did you use an agency or clinic pool? I have an appt at my clinic with the DE coordinator. I think they have a six month (at least) wait time so figure I better "get in line."
A boy! What exciting news! I think probably your instinct is right about DE being less of an issue with a boy, but, either way, he's healthy and he's your baby and he's a beautiful (I assume) bouncing boy! I'm so glad to hear from you and read your updates. Guess now you can start thinking of names...
Keep us posted,
I myself am hoping for a girl next, but a good friend of mine has two boys and she loves it because they are such good friends to each other. Best wishes for an easy time of it through your pregnancy and beyond!
I think it would be great to have 2 of the same...and your comments about boys and the DE thing makes total sense. So happy things are going well for you, Eden, and it's so thoughtful of you to share updates with us.
One quick question--did you use DE from your clinic, did you go through an agency or was it a private donation? Just wondering, as I am beginning to comtemplate the subject of DE and am curious about it all.
