Last night I was calibrating my flatbed scanner and got wondering why on all the watch boards, photographs of watches are called "scans", as though everyone is literally scanning analog photographs. With that in mind, I tossed these three on the scan bed and this is what got spit out...
The overall shot...uhhhh...scan!!!
I then cropped in on the original scan to see what kind of detail I got on the watch faces. I was pretty impressed since I only did a 300dpi scan at 12" x 16"...

Pretty damned impressive detail! I might shelve my cameras for a while and concentrate on scan-o-graphs!
