dear mr. haagen, i suggest you accquire a copy of 'military timepieces' by konrad knirim, so that you may see for yourself, where azimuth and steinhart got their "inspiration" for their observer watches. watches like these have been produced by companies like iwc, laco, wempe, lange and others for the german air forces during world war 2. i can also assure you, that mr. steinhart did not know about the azimuth at the time he comissioned his grand marquis.
you are right however, that steinhart is copying other watchmaker's designs rather blatantly, and that is not something i approve of. i'm all for original design. i must say though, that steinhart's watches are of very good quality with lots of love for details. and unlike others in this segment, he's not only in it for the money, which you can see by looking at his prices.
