I just have to say some words regarding this watch. It has to be one of the best homage pieces in my collection. I have a great looking aged rad style watch and the 1954 fits well next to its older less weighted brother, wow only 150 grams of metal, leather and Saph crystal all in one package. Its a large one alright. Heft is the focus on this model, 47mm not including the crown and 15mm thick says it all. Not for the small wristed person in mind, unless you like to wear huge large watches. I guess I was always used to the large Dia. watches feeling at home with watches up to 55mm for example my Vintage Laco B-uhr issued pilots watch.

The watch looks so historic and nice that I cant take it off my wrist. For some of you that know me I am a true fan of large watches and OP SE models. The looks, quality and feel of this watch come very close to my other Pam pieces( Pams 217-232-195).

Only one down side to the watch is the lum on the Hour markers, this is fairly week in my view, than again you cant get everything you want all at one time. OP has this department taken care of, only the cost is much more as we all know I'm still very happy with this monster 1954 model.

I'm sure in the future OP will be trying to play catch up with a 1954 version for SE fans, Except I think I would have to pass on it at having to pay 12-15K for an OP watch with a Unitas movt, a model that is priced close to 20K+ with an in house movt or if the watch was to be relaesed in a very special SE 8day historic/vintage model for the rich and famous for 30K+( only to sell at auction for 100K+) The only way I could buy it because they would never sell me it to me anyway because of my lack of Elite status, lol

I could just think of how nice this 1954 bad boy would look with a browed aged painted lum work over by IWW. I'm sure out of this world. As soon as I got the watch I switched the strap for a darker brown strap to give it a more Historic feel.

For any person thinking about getting this watch in the near future I would not think twice, its well worth the fair price its retail is structured at.

Glad to have picked it up, thanks to RWC, the seller that sold it to me because it was too large for him, and this great forum.

Best to all

Andy
