Panerai and Marina Militare Patents

Hi Guys,

Its my first post in this forum, hope you guys can help.

I've tried to search for Panerai patents and found out that the lever that protects the crown is patented isnt it? How about the name Marina Militare, is it patented?

I couldnt find any info on the above. Pls help. Thanks!

Marina Militare can just mean Italian Navy. It somehow sounds generic.

Marina Militare means Naval (or water based) Military

literally and cannot be patented or trademarked. The Panerai patented crown guard is but you may notice a number of watch companies (AP, Ball, Aquamatic, etc.) have similar devices that also ensure water resistancy at the crown.

217's Marina Militare is e only watch from Panerai that's illegal

What I'm told if OP is suppose to get Italian Navy's permission before releasing PAM00217.
But, the permission never comes.
The wording Marina Militare can only be used by Panerai pending the approval that never came.
Hence, 217, unknown to many is e only illegal Panerai on the road.
This information is very little known.
Which is why 217 price is still well below it's potential...
