Some vegetables contain natural diuretics (m)

and you want to keep the water flowing out. A cheater trick would be milk of mag to send any excess fecal weight blasting out of there. (Sorry, I had to mention it, of course I wouldn't do it!)

If you want to play fair and square, I'd avoid salty stuff (Miso soup always makes me hold water!) and drink plenty of free water (as opposed to diet soda) and eat celery, cucumbers, spinach and zucchini.

When I wanted to drop a lot of weight FAST when I was young, I relied on 2 crazy diets. I would NEVER do these now.

One was the cottage cheese diet. Basically you buy a container of lowfat cottage cheese and divide it into FOUR meals (so 1/2 cup per meal), each of which is served with ONE serving of fruit or vegetable. I used to count 1/2 cantaloupe as a piece of fruit and that was one of my faves.

The other was the "cutting diet." This was for pre-contest bodybuilders trying to reduce body fat fast. It involved sugar free nonfat yogurt for breakfast with a sliced banana, and 1 cup of spaghetti for lunch -- with just herbs, salt and pepper, no sauce. Afternoon snack was another cup of spaghetti. Dinner was 1/2 head of iceberg lettuce, chopped, with 1 small (not regular!) can of water pack tuna on top, and either lemon juice or vinegar (rice vinegar is okay) with various herbs, garlic salt, dried chives or onions, etc.

In 1 week on this diet you lose a considerable amount of weight and develop mouth sores (from the vinegar and nutritional deficiencies).

I do not recommend either of these diets. But the night before, a glass of wine will relax you and have a natural diuretic action!
