I am still babystepping gingerly along...(m)

I usually have an ice cream bowlful of maple pecan granola w/ 2% milk when I get up. Today I was in Anaheim at a breakfast that our chorus arranged for out of towner women barbershoppers who had come to the men's Harmony World Jamboree. So I had an omelette w/ onions, mushrooms and swiss cheese and a blueberry muffin. The night before we attended the World Harmony dinner show and there was chicken breast with veggies in a wine sauce over pasta, plus I had one whole grain roll. There was a thin slice of cake with whipped cream and strawberry pieces as a filling for dessert. Then we walked the length of Downtown Disney and back. After that I needed to take another pain pill! I have to eat or I get sick on them, so I had one of those little packages of crackers and chicken salad. Having trouble with pain in the inner arch of my foot today, but it's only when I step a certain way, so no pain pills today.

Right now I'm wary of going too far off track with sugar, so I am being cautious, although the temptation is definitely still there. Flavored waters help some with my sweet tooth. I'm not perfect, but compared to my binge eating of recent times, I'm doing much better and I feel this is a more sustainable way of eating.

I went to the gym on Tues. and walked last night. I'll be swimming at a pool party tomorrow, so my exercise is pretty well done for the week; first time in a very long time that I've been able to say that. And, I like that there will be a bit of variety, too. I haven't weighed yet, don't think I will for a bit. I need to get back into drinking water again. There are definitely times when I feel close to falling. I just looked back and I've stayed close to being on track since around May 26th. That's pretty good, considering how badly I was doing before and how strong the compulsion to eat sweets had gotten. Obviously I haven't gotten much closer to the alkaline way of eating yet, but it's been over a week since I ate red meat!

Thanks for the support and accountability you all provide!

Deb
