that pretty much settles it. Almost all brands of pellets will fit in the magazine. some might be smaller. But what ever you ise DO NOT USE BB'S, DART'S, OR anything else thats not lead. Take those little red hyperveloicty caps for example.
The gun is accurate to a real nice distance. Give it a nice oil job and it will shoot ust fine!
My idiotic friend took the darts and loaded them down the barrel. He also un loaded the clip and manually inserted the dart in to the barrel and then put the clip back in. So it can be done!
why can i not shoot for example "walther high power pellets"? I mean the ones with the plastic tail and the head made of steel.
I read somewhere that they would fit too.
(Do they damage the barrel or what?)
I would NOT reccomend the use of Airgun Darts (the horsehair stabilized ones) in the 1077. They are meant for SMOOTHBORE guns ONLY!!!! Marksman makes fin stabilized airgun BOLTS that are for rifled guns, these will NOT mess up your bore. An easy way to load these is to dispense with the magazine alltogether, turn the gun upside down, release the barrel latch, and load them in through the breech, then re-latch the barrel. Sticking them in from the front of the barrel is a possible safety hazard, and your velocity will not be as consistent as it would be in breech loading. As for the hyper velocity rounds, the ones I have from Czechoslovakia are in a plastic sabot, the steel NEVER touches the rifling. So long as yours are saboted AND the sabot travels down the barrel to later be discarded, you will be FINE, it's the same principle as the saboted shotgun slugs and blackpowder bullets. Now, if your plastic thing stays in the magazine, like mathhew says, say bye bye to rifling UNLESS you use a GOOD teflon/silicon based lubricant after every shooting session. The germans used a mild steel jacketed projectile for a time in their MG-34 machine guns with little noticible barrel wear...I cannot imagine airgun pellets being made of the same hardness of steel as the cores of some of the old chinese 7.62x39mm AP that used to float around gun shows, but hey, try the magnet test to see how pure it is!!! Just my .02, im off the soapbox now, sorry to trouble y'all!
