I would have to second the RWS super match...here's my list:
1-RWS supermatch (all around)
2-Beeman Laser (not too much velocity but enough to be neat)
3-Crosman Copperhead Pointed Pellets (crosman pellets seem to be heavier, thus impart more energy, also seem to have a lubricant on the pellet)
4-Beeman Crow Magnum (have a look at a recovered crow magnum pellet fired through gelatin. WHOO!)
5-Crosman Copperhead Match (same as #2, is a bit cheaper than RWS in my area)
6-Beeman Silver Jet (neat design lends itself to light hunting and target shooting, too expensive for intended use though)
7-Gamo Round (yes, its not really a pellet, bu the treating on these makes them have almost no wear on barrels even though they are made of steel, and penetration is ridiculous. Cheap, for informal plinking, the BB of choice in my PPK/S c02 with WECSOG'd steel barrel)
Pellets I WONT use (my opinion, you may have different results...)
1-Daisy max speed PELLETS (not bbs) (for a few cents more you can have crosman. No contest.)
2-Hypervelocity Sabot Pellets (ok, i use these sometimes for laughs, but for serious use the design has not ocme far enough along yet)
3-MOST ALL hollowpoint pellets (with the stated exceptions above) (most airguns do not have the velocity to get reliable expansion out of these. You'll KNOW if your airgun is powerful enough for these)
4-Any steel non jacketed, non saboted pellet (WILL damage your barrel over a period of time)
Again, these are my experiences, and everyone's airgun likes different pellets. Buy a bunch of different types and see what works and what doesn't, its like owning a new .22, airguns in my experience tend to be finicky with what you feed them, especially c02 or high powered ones.

They are designed for two different purposes. The wadcutter style head on the RWS makes it superior for punchig holes in paper, whilst the more conventional silverjet head lends itself to hunting a bit more. I myself would have to go with the RWS, assuming you are using a 1077. If you are using another airgun the situation might change, though.

Good list TW!

Half of the silver jet pellets dont sit right in the magazine and can slide through. But the ones that do slide through! Whoooooosh! Ammazing accuracy. The RWS Supermatch I bought are hallow point. Like the wadcutter design but it slows the pellet down a little bit more to make it more accurate.

I wouldnt recomend ANY Type of bb's in the 1077. That even includes lead. In my personal opinion BB'S are ment for BB guns and BB guns ALONE!

Silver jet pellets here are 14.99 for a pack of 500 and RWS Super match are 6.00 for a 500 pack!

If you are trying to impress a friend do what I did.

Get 6 hyper velocity pellets and 6 beeman silver jet pellets. Load magazine like this H,H,H,B,B,H,H,B,B,B,B,H

Shoot the gun over the chrono 3 times and show your friend the 700+fps read out. Than point at a target far away and squeeze of the 2 beeman silver jets. Than chrono the hyper and just finish shooting with the beeman than to assure him of the fps let him shoot the last shot over the chrono. Yeah I know I am mean but hey I made him jelouse!
