OW that hurt

one of my friends has a suped up crossman 1077 it velocity is about 950fps and let me tell u dont shoot ur self my question or .02 is that he got it too 950 by changeing the hammer spirng hammer and the triger spring and put gun oil in all the holes he also has a bulk air kit ...(it is'nt that big but it dose increase the shots). while thats all good and stuff .he basicaly took out the seals of the gun and put so much lube inside he basicaly uses lube instead of co2 is it posible too use air in the 1077 or do u need c02?

to bulk the gun and get a compressed air tank regulated to CO2 pressures to run it on HPA air.(unregulated HPA air can have up to 3000psi) James at Fun Supply sells those tanks(or at least he used too!!!) what your buddy did to his gun is not something that would be recomended by anyone in the know about CO2 guns.......in fact it sounds kinda dangerous and he probably ruined the gun......950fps??? unless there is some kind of "explosion"!!!!!!!!!!

Although that does sound cool it also sounds very dangerous. The averadge speed of my .22 short is somewhere around 1200 fps. Man if your friend got the 1077 to shoot at a constant 950 fps. I think he is going to need a longer barrel. But on the other hand that will make a wonderful full out hunting rifle!
