on the can ver of the 1077W there is wat looks like a clip lock but all it dose is move the barel up or down the cylander wat the hell is the point of this... it dose incresse the accuresy buy 1cm at 40ft but who cares... wat is this thing suposed to do.. i read the manuel.

This is a barrel latch. I leave mine closed when shooting, as this is the condition the airgun came in and I assume that crosman knows what they're doing with it. I personally unlatch the barrel when I clean it, make it a bit easier. I'm probably missing some huge intergalactic crosman secret here, so anyone?

This allows the magazine to be removed should a pellet get stuck or jammed partway between the clip and the barrel as you run out of CO2. The normal position of the latch is to the back in the upper notch.

you can see what it does. The barrel slides forward in the front sight. If you modify or replace the front sight with something else you may eliminate this feature.

the barrel latch open, however it will fire reguardless of the latch position if the magazine is not in.
