I have seen a few posts on this board about some illegal activities.

I don't want to be big brother or start preaching but I think not saying anything could be worse so:

People that live outside USA note this.

Offers of someone wanting you to buy a silencer and mail it to someone in USA , carefully consider not doing it. First the offer itself buy the person in the USA has just committed a Felony criminal offense called "Conspiracy to commit a Felony" it a very serious offense and easy to prove as you just posted the offer on this Forum.

Also it's the reason a lot of emails to a UK companies will go unanswered is because they don't want to be part of a conspiracy.

There are Customs Officers both in the UK and USA if they find them you are in serious trouble.

I say again her in US if you make a person an offer to something illegal the offer itself is a crime. IIRC it's 2 to 10 years in prison and a felony on your record, you will not be able to vote, lose right to have firearms and probably good paying jobs will be far and few between after you get out.

Right now the feds have and are scanning e-mails and web sites for terrorist activities, ever hear of the Patriot Act. If you have made such an offer just pray they are too busy to pay much attention to it.

Forum owner, you want to delete any such posts as if you don't you could be involved as well.

Simply posting about something will not get you into trouble. Otherwise all of the "mall ninjas" and trolls on Bower's subgun boards and the full auto forums I frequent would long ago have been picked up. However, such activity IS monitered, and the SECOND you provide ANY address information or ANYTHING that makes it SEEM like a deal is about to go down on US soil, expect your ISP to get a subpoena to provide your name and address to the proper authorities. For you foreign airgunners, i would suggest stating VERY plainly that silencers/whatever are legal in your country. I myself in posting about my walther P22 w/sound suppressor on this board have clearly stated that I have paid my 200 dollar transfer fee and registered my silencer as per the 1934 National Firearms act. Remember, you can do almost anything you want in this country so long as you meet the legal requirements and pay the proper taxes. Just don't try to slip through it; the paperwork is surprisingly easy, and certainly not worth a decade or more in Club Fed. I know there are no less than 14 KNOWN active members of www.falfiles.com where I post every day almost that are members of the BATFE.

By the way: if you REALLY want an airgun silencer, go see a Type 07/SOT licensee in your area, have one made, and pay the 200 dollar transfer. That's about what it takes. Also beware so-called "fake silencers". The BATFE has ruled that fake silencers with empty guts and/or removable end caps qualify as sound supressors under the 1934 National FIrearms act. Remember, just because they may sell it does NOT mean that it is legal by any means.

it is legal. Simply means they have better things to do or would in most cases be harder to prove.

But I stand by my original statement, Conspiring to commit a crime is a serious offense in the USA.

A true case that was reported in Guns & Ammo magazine quite a few years ago went like this: two men were parked in front of a bank at night and a policeman stopped and asked them what they were doing.

Annoyed but the question one man replied they were sitting there planning how to rob the bank. The Policeman arrested them and at the trial they told the judge they were only kidding and judge told them it wasn't funny and they will get 15 years in prison to think about it.

Extreme case I know and I would think an appeals court would throw it out but I don't know for sure how it came out.

Like you said if they actually thought a deal was going down they would act.

Also it is not legal in USA to plot the overthrow of a foreign government.

Also think of all the cases that people are conspiring with so called Hit-men to kill someone. These are proscuted and there are also laws regarding accessory to a crime both before and after the Fact.

Best to be a nice guy and have fun with airguns & firearms.
