Co2 adapter question

If one installs the larger co2 bottle system that is supposed to give you 400 rounds, do you still have to store the gun without the co2 charge and can it be easily removed without discharging the bottle ?

Also, does anyone use break free as a lubricant for this type of airgun ?

Thanks in advance.

I do not know what type of valve system you are using.

You should have a valve and bleed system of some kind you can use to isolate the CO2 bottle rather than leave a pressurized tank on the gun.  These companies can help you.  Check there web sites.  The only lube you should use in a CO2 gun is Crosman pellgun oil. Put a drop on the end of the CO2 cartridge once in a while or a couple drops in the cartridge tube.  Most people over lube airguns.  If you ever repaired airguns it is not uncommon to find oil running out when you disassemble them.   Break free and firearm oils will desolve the seals in an airgun.  Firearms do not have rubber seals like an airgun and the lubes are not compatable.

Hey Weylan,

Thanks for the info, that's pretty neat!

Have a clear view of your target and what's behind/beyond it before squeezing off the shot.

AS Cartridge shutoff.

Hi Anonymous,

Theodore has given you some good advise. Many so called lubricants such as WD40 is actually a solvent with very good lubricating qualities for metal.

If I'm correct the knurled black knob near the AS tank is indeed a shutoff so the unit can be removed?? Again Theodore would know this as my gun didn't arive today as I expeceted it would or I could have seen the unit first hand.

The black knob on the airsource system will allow the complete AS system to be removed

from the gun.  The tank cannot be removed from the AS assembly without losing all the CO2.  The AS tanks do not have a pin valve, once they are installed the seal is punched and they must be used before being removed. The companies listed above produce aftermarket valves to go between the AS tank and whatever they are used on.
