I don't know about any one else but I been experiencing some accuracy problems with the 1077, It seems to have horrible accuracy, any further than a few yards, even with a fresh co2 cartridge. This gun also seems to have a ****ty range after 30 feet. I bought this gun to mainly shoot squirrels in trees, but the combination of the accuracy, range and power of this gun makes it impossible to hit squirrels in trees, and if a squirrel ever was it hit, it probably wouldn't be injured with significant fall in power. I have a 4x30mm scope which isn't that big of a help, zeroing the scope, has been a real pain, because after the first 10-15 shots from the gun, the co2 cartage begins losing pressure and accuracy, so I have to put a new cartage in the gun just to make sure the scope is accurate. I have a Daisy red Ryder lever bb gun that was made around 1992, which has outstanding accuracy and range compared to the 1077. I also, tried putting a rubber band around the gun to hold the barrel flaps back so not as much co2 is loss, and still this gun proves to be a piece of ****.

My question is, is there hope for this gun, if I purchase a max-bulk adapter, will the range and accuracy on this gun improve by a lot???

Any ways I'm gotten tired of putting money into this gun, believing there was hope, I looked around, and for a airgun that has high accuracy and range up to 50yrds or more it would cost at least $300 USD, which I find ridiculous for a airgun (it only shoots pellets and still requires some air source, or some method of cocking) when I can just a buy a cheap, but reliable .22 semi-auto, 10 shot magazine, long rifle for $100-$170 and a box of 500 brass tipped hollow point rounds for $30 and get consistent exec lent accuracy (compared to any pellet gun) and almost up to a mile in range. And only need to buy ammo oppose to co2 cartridges/refills and pellets.

Also, does any know of any high range, accurate, semi-auto air guns for under $200 bucks??? Or should I just get a .22 long rifle.

To any one who was once like me, wondering if they should buy this gun, my current anwser is NO!!!

Never had problems with my rifle...Have shot squirrels, pigeons and crows
out of trees from quite a distance...I don't think the guns failing
on you but the person pulling the trigger.

Maybe it's not the gun, but I know it's not me like I said I have a Dasiy red ryder lever action bb gun, which I have shot a few small song birds from 50 feet out of trees, I'm able to split praymatis insects, on tree braches, in half with one shot from 10 feet with this gun, I have even been able to hit squrrels (to weak to kill or even pentrate squrrels) with it from the same distance I expected to do with the 1077 (about 30 yrds) all this has been done with only an open site.

Has any one notice a significant difference in range and acurracy once the bought the bulk-airsource for the 1077?

Re: Performace Problems!!!

Sorry about my first post totally flaming the 1077, and it's owners, I must of have been out of my little mind when I posted that, The thing is I never gave the 1077 practice, I was too unpatincent, after my last post I went out side and loaded a new co2 cartdrige and a clip of crossman viper, pest control pointed pellets. set a alumnuan soda can full of water, up and steadied the rifle atop an old parked car on my land, looked threw the scope and fired away, I was totall surprised by the impact, the entrance hole was pellet size, and the exit hole was nearly a grape sized tear in the can!!! This can I was fireing into was 21 yrds, 4 ft away and about 8 ft off the ground, and 10 of the shots were within a quarter sized group!, 3 of the shots were in the same hole!!! I was just never patince enought to know this gun's capablites although at a time i did take time to get skilled with the bb gun. I will soon test this gun at greater distances. I'm gonna buy either the max-bulk adapter or the crossman bulk adapter, (Tell me what you would recomend!) and then some type of new barrle (where can I find a new 1077 barrle), and just try to upgrade this gun instead of buy another $400 dollar pellet gun.

So my new questions are what would you recommend? crossman bulk adapter or the max-bulk adapter?
Where can I find a better barrel for the 1077?

Thanks Evilchild666

I recommand the Maxzbulk or Cooper T bulk fill system.

The tanks are refillable and they seem to work better.  There are no off the shelf barrels for it.  You will need to get a blank barrel and have it machined to fit and machining is not inexpensive.

I just bought mine today

October 15 2004, 11:40 PM

I was wondering if there was just one website that had all the accesories for this rifle. I shot it over 100 times to test it out and I find I get 48 rds. off with decent power but after that it gets weak in a hurry. I bought this gun for pest control because racoons and opossums keep eating my cats food and running her off. I will let you know if it can do any damage on small game shortly. I was having a real problem deciding today on buying the 1077 or the Winchester one pump rifle. Although the fps was 800 on the Winchester it was $100. The convienence of a Semi-Auto and the price of 52$ won me over. I hope this bad boy has what it takes to eliminate a Raccoon that shall be a true test!!

And if anyone knows a decent affordable accessory website please post it when you can!!

Thanks

Shot Placement......

October 16 2004, 5:55 AM

....is very important on a raccoon or opossum. As a tribute to your prowess as a marksman and a hunter, close head shots should do the trick. Claiming the creature means reducing him into your possession otherwise the wounded victim will escape, his fate shall remain unknown and there will be no picture to share with us. I have the same problem and am doing a laser mod to help me dispatch the creature. Bought the laser for $19.95 at Wal-mart and am mounting it to the AirSource with a machined block I designed. I'll try to post pictures of the mod and the nocturnal bird seed bandit asap.

1077 1-Shot Creature Totals: Squirrel - 3, Dove - 16 and Chipmunk - 16

Nope, I Ain't Winking At'cha, I'm AIMING At'cha!!!!! Shoot'm where they THINK!

No there is no wesite just for the 1077. except this one.

October 16 2004, 7:05 AM

There are no mods dedicated just for it except the bulk fill units from Maxzbulk and CooperT and the Crosman Airsource unit.  There is also a small unit to fill four pellet cylinders at one time.  I bought one at Pyramyd Air.  It works very well.
