Art you have really peeked my curiousity so as usual i have more questions.

can you anodize the alluminum breaks black?

what diesgn brings out the 1077's full potentiial?

and i noticed the length. would it be possible to have the muzzle start at the begning of the sight so it matches up evenly and extend it about half an inch?

This looks reall good! i really like that.

Maybe we can do some projects this summer I am curently working on designing a 1022. something so simple as a abrrel swap and a clip change. However I am still searching for t.w. to see about how his friend did that 900 fps power mod.

http://www.airgunsofarizona.com/ 4th one down under adaptors select muzzle. I want something like a 10 piece muzzle set that threads on and off the adaptor. you know with 10 diferently designed muzle breaks ect. but i want my kit to include 2 adaptors, one that where the adapter will fit over the sight and one where it will fit over the barrel, this way if i decide to take off the sight i can. This is just my idea though. i figure once you get all the muzzle breaks made. you can put them on any gin with an adaptor. so you dont have to custom design each break. jsut an adaptor.

for example you know the freek system in paintball i want something like that

Sorry I don't offer that option

I would have to raise price quite bit as both pieces would have to be threaded on the lathe both outside and inside threads because the size would not be a standard size that could be used for taping & threading.

So price would be higher that buying indivual brakes.

Brake length

May 14 2005, 8:12 AM

About the length, the brake pictured was not designed for the 1077 and I modified it to fit and cut out for the front sight just enough for the brake to go on. I did mention in my post that new brakes designed for the 1077 would be flush with the rear sight base. IMO it would look crappy if it did not do so.

1/2 inch would not be enough length for the brake to work properly my brakes the last 1/2 inch is only bored just about pellet size. This allows the pellet to mostly block the brake and gas will tale path of least resistance so any remaing gas will be sure to go through the holes.

Most buy the brakes just because they look Kool so some designs will work better than others as far as reducing muzzle lift. The 1077 unless someone really does it going 900 FPS really doesn't have that problem anyway.

Aluminum can be anodized, Brass can be blackened by Birchwood Casey's Brass Black

Either can be powder coated any color you want.

I am not setup to do anodizing or powder coat but you can find shops in your area to do it. I talked to local powder coater and they said black is most popular color they do and if I wiated until they doing a job for someone in black they could toss a brake in otherwise there was a $25 minumun order fee.
