| I was at the store the other day and bought a tin of 500 of these pellets because it seemed like a good deal. Well, I must say this is some pretty sad ammo. The pellets are really inconsistent both physically and in performance. Some of them seemed to be a little undersized and would not even stay in the clip; they would just fall out if you tip it over. Others were too big and had to be forced in. As far as accuracy goes, a lot of them shot pretty straight, but there too many that are not accurate, and there is some that are completely wild, for example, groupings of an inch at 15 feet!
The pellet also doesn’t expand very well for being a hollow point; the cup on the nose of it seems too small to expand well. Some times its ok, but usually the pellet does not expand at all, or the reverse even happens, the cup actually closes!
I was shooting Crosman "hyper Velocity" pointed pellets before and those are a lot better. I find this strange since they are both from the same manufacturer.

the exact same experience with the hollows. Just yesterday i was playing around with them and decided about 1 in every 3 was so undersized it would not stay in the clip. With varying sizes like that say goodby to any hopes of accuracy. The only way your going to get the small cup to do any real expansion is with a powerful gun going at least 800 fps or so. I have also been dissapointed with the Premier Superpoints so if you havnt tried them i suggest staying away. I suggest getting the Premier Dome Lights 7.9g that come in a cardboard box in a count of 1250. They are cheaper than RWS, JSB, and Beeman pellets but they are the most acurate in my guns of any other pellet i have tried. Even serious airgunners with guns costing thousands of dollars will tell you these are great pellets. You might want to try out the Premier Supermatch. They are a very nice medium priced wadcutter that has given me very nice results in lower powered guns. My 1077 likes the Premier Domes the best but RWS Domes came in a very close second. | |
