Bulking the AS 1077

August 7 2006, 11:49 AM

Good day;
Unfortunately the thread size for an Air Source bottle is used only by them (and not normal to any standard I have found).
It does (however) have thick enough side walls to allow it to be tapped.
I saw off the neck of a USED Airsource Bottle, just where it gets big.
Using an "R" drill bit, run it into the sawed off end.
Tap to (US NPT) 1/8" pipe thread.
You have now made an Airsource X Female 1/8" NPT adapter.
From there you can install any number of 1/8" fittings.
I have installed a quick disconnect and use it for a "Remote" (coiled hose) paintball type CO2 setup with a 24 OZ tank.
Shoots 4,000 rounds for $6.00 of CO2 cost.
Whatever 1/8" fitting you put into the AS tap, make sure you use a good (thick) pipe dope on the threads (only) for sealing. Don't get any in the path of the gas flow.
Any questions, please let me know.
Regards;
Mike
