Question - New Gamo PBA Pellets

I was looking through a Cabela's catalog earlier today, and I noticed these new pellets, that promise to deliver 25% more velocity and 50% more penetration in all air rifles.

You can check them out here:

I was just wondering if anyone has ever tried these Gamo PBA pellets before in the 1077? I am trying to find an alternative to lead, because I feel it is a horrible, poisonous metal that needs to be ridden from outdoor sports entirely. This seems like a very nice alternative.

I'm about to buy them, but am worried they will not be accurate or will not fit the clips.

Thanks,

Ryan

EDITED NOTE: These are NOT the Gamo Rocket pellets that were already mentioned on this site, but the Gamo Raptor (Gold Plated) pellets.

they work great wal-mart here had them and they didnt sell well so the marked them down to 1 dollar a pack. I bought them all about 16 packs they do give the 1077 more power I'm not sure if its 25% but u will see some power increase. this comes from the light weigh (5g i think) but anyway they will fitand work fine. i have a few kills with them

WHAT

One DOLLAR a pack?? That's rediculous. I'm about to buy a 100 pkg. for 10 times that. I'd say you got a really nice deal there.

I am really glad to hear first hand that they are not problematic with the 1077.

I'm also going to buy a crosman cleaning kit to get all of that nasty lead out of the barrel of my 1077 and probably ditch all of the lead pellets for good, now that there is a good alternative.

Thanks for reassuring me! It's too bad normally they are so damn expensive. I have looked at Walmart, Kmart, and other stores and they have nothing but lead. Oh well.

You said you got some kills, so they can't be too innacurate. I plan on using it for rabbit hunting, to add a little challenge. Shotguns just don't have much mercy on the little fellas!

Thanks again for the input.

- Ryan

Poor kitty.

I find the feral cats in our neighborhood much too valuable as ratters to ever shoot them. The free-ranging rats around here come out late at night, when I am snoring, so if the cats are not around to get them, they will just multiply beyond belief.

A trash can with a good, sealing lid will usually stop any cat, and I have discovered an even better way of dealing with the rats, the feral cats and those flying vermin like pidgeons and starlings.

I set up a 4x8 piece of plywood against the fence in the backyard, strategically placed so that it is less than 10 yards from my side door. On a cardboard box in front of it, I put a styrofoam bowl filled with premium dry cat food.

In the evenings, all the feral cats ignore the trash can and come to have dinner at the bowl. Late at night, the rats come sneaking in to feed, and the cats lying in wait snag a few of them. Later in the morning on weekends, I fill the bowl again, the cats have breakfast and go somewhere to sleep and I put my 1077 with the AirSource kit and the BSA 4x32 scope by the side door. The pidgeons, and other flying rats, start coming in right around 8:30 AM. When about 3 or 4 of them are at the dish, I pop a magazine in my 1077 and sneak quietly out my well-oiled side door.

I usually get 1 or 2 of them. If I remove the carcasses, fill up the bowl and wait, they might even come back for a second or third time! Great, fun hunting.
