Hi everybody, im from the UK and i bought the 1077 3 days ago and am happy so far, its accurate and quick (very quick!)the only thing i am concerned about is the power, iv had two rilfes in the past but theyve both been spring rifles, i had a junior rifle .177 (no idea what make or model) and i had a Cometa 300 .22 , both of these were powerful and i usually chose to shoot half filled plastic water bottles. Both the 6ftlbs junior and the 12ftlbs cometa blew holes in these at 20 ft. However the 1077 which im told is 9ft lbs approx. the pellets are bouncing off!. AND its a fresh c02 cylinder. Am i doing something wrong? im using Walther 12gram c02 powerlets and RWS Superdomes.

I don't know what "detuning" is done for the UK models- but alot of Canadian models suffer from the same lack of power- I'm gathering that lately Crosman Quality Control, at least on the 1077's, is, well, less than exemplary- so some units end up at the "higher" end of the maximum possible power output, others at the "lower" end- i.e. 5-6ft/lbs and 300fps. If you can test it some more and see if anything changes and then decide if maybe you want to return it for an exchange/repair to where you purchased it- think about it.

Hi,
I am also from the UK I got my 1077 for Xmas, I ran it over the Chrono and was getting an average MV of 600 fps at 8c, with 7.9 crossman premier pellets this roughly equates to 6.3 fpe, basicaly, 1/2 the power of your cometa 300. the 1077 is a fun plinker and should be used as such. There are 1077 specific silencers aavilable, I found one at J S Ramsbottom.com for £24.95.
