Just became an owner recently and I'm enjoying this thing alot. It did'nt break the bank and is so easy to handle and shoot it's tough to put down. So over the past weekend while installing some windows, I left it in the sun for about an hour and it would not shoot. I thought maybe the co2 leaked out but no; in fact it had so little power that the pellets got stuck in the barrel. Is there something with this? Overheating? Safety? After about an hour in the shade it seemed to be back to normal after a couple of shots. Any ideas? Thanks

I would bet a combination of heat and gas (Co2) expansion. The black-colored gun sits in the sun and soaks up heat- i.e. like the interior of a car with the windows closed in July- heating up all the internals. Then along comes the heated Co2, pushing out at higher pressure because it is also heated up- but its expansion creates a sudden freezing effect- resulting in a valve lockup. Try taking it outside and leaving it in the shade and see if the same thing happens.

Eric,

Thanks for the reply; I believe your assessment is correct as when I put the gun back in the garage for a bit it began firing normally (or so). I'll try not to let it sit for so long again, I was really just trying to warm it up a little to increase the velocity.

actually it would still fire if the hammer spring was stronger or the valve spring was weaker. what likely happened was that the C02 reached a high enough pressure that the hammer could not open the valve, putting it in the shade lowered the temp again and therefor lowered the pressure
