Thinking of bulk filling my 1077 soas to get more useable shots per fill than the 12g powerlets.

I understand that this is not CO2 and are there any disadvantages mechanics-wise for the gun

Also, does anyone know what the fill pressure would be for an external bottle soas not to rip the inards apart, for example, what is the pressure of a powerlet

Does anyone know

Thanks

Garry

Bulking does not refer to air, it generally refers to Co2.

The pump you show in the picture is a scuba pump and goes up to at least 3000 psi. Co2 levels off at around 900 psi depending on temperature. Here is a web site that has some sources for CO2 Bulk items. Maxzbulk sells the necessary items to handle a 1077. I use his parts and they work very well.

Amazed

November 20 2007, 3:27 PM

Hi and thanks for the reply
I am amazed as I did not attach that picture and have no idea where or how it came.
I Have been on MaxZbulk site and want to order but need some info.

I take it the Paintball bottles are to be charged from a scuba tank which I use for my PCP's but these paintball bottles are only then recieving air and if this is right I take it these are to be charged to a max of 900psi. I take it that this is the pressure generally of a 12g capsule and does the fact that this is air have no problems on the internals that are expecting to receive co2

Thanks

Garry

Paint ball bottles are only charged with CO2. They are not tested

for high pressure air. Also you will only obtain one or two shots with 900 psi of air as the pressure drops with each shot. CO2 settles out at around 900 psi after each shot so the pressure stays close to 900 psi till the CO2 gets two low. Some do use air but they have a regulator on the tank to keep the air pressure at a safe level for CO2 guns. They are called HPA systems. These tanks will handle 3000 or 4500 psi but with the regulator they supply the required pressure to the gun. If you supply scuba pressure air to a CO2 gun you will explode the air cylinder or blow the valve out of the gun as they are not built to handle that pressure.

Bulk Fill

November 23 2007, 3:48 PM

Thanks eversomuch Theo for the reply and info. I am just trying to understand the bulk fill process. If what you say is correct and I have no reason to doubt that it is not, can you tell me how to fill the 12 ounce paintball bottles with CO2

Thanks

Garry

Go to a paintball store or fire extinguisher supply store and have them fill it.

If you have a larger tank and the necessary fill station

or fittings to go from the fill tank to the 12 oz bottle you can do it yourself. The commerical fill station gives you a bleed valve to bleed the gas off between the fill tank valve and the bottle being filled. If not bled off it may be impossible to remove the bottle or very hard to and it will be hard on o rings. The larger bottle needs a sipon tube or be turned upside down as you want to fill with liquid CO2 not gas. Some put the bottle to be filled in the freezer for a time to make it cold or fill it and bleed some CO2 off to make it cold. This makes for a good full fill. CO2 is filled by weight not pressure so a scale to fll to the weight stated on the bottle is a good idea. If the bottle is kept in a hot car it may build up enough pressure to blow the bottles burst disk. I understand that is an exciting experience when one is driving along and has the disk blow.

By the way! The image in the top post is an advert from Google to fund this forums Hosting costs, Confusing I know!, So you'll have to put up with it till the Admin finds a better way to fund the forum, Highly unlikely though lol!

Good info in this thread!
