the new Black valve end and insert camethrough today, and to my suprise the o ring that i thought was going to be missing was right there on the insert/nose so no worrying bout getting the right size! i also had a though, that the o ring from the grey valve i am removing would fit also so i had a plan, but am happy that i dont need it, while i was ordering i noticed that they were going to charge 13.50 for postage on items that were small enough to fit in a padded envelope, so i called and questioned this, and they said that the box they were shipping them in was too big to go through the silly slot in the post office plastic letter gauge, so i just ordered some more stuff to use the postage cost to better effect, i got a spare magazine and pellgun oil and some more round mags, so nw just got to get the valve parts changed and get myself a bipod etc, and give it that tactical look, and i will be happy, stupidly i saw after the parts had shiped that D&L do a tac kit for 60 bucks, so I could have had that shipped too, and saved even more, but will do that next time, so thanks again for the heads up guys, i will let ya know hw the conversion goes powerwise and if there are any eadaches, i dont think there should be, i would post pics of the rifle etc, but can't seem to get the pics on the fum, so i guess i am missing something, oh well one day all will be clear!! cheers, CC

Re: The valve stuff has arrived! with a bonus!

the parts arrived today and i swapped them over (easy stuff!) while i was at it i compared them to each other, and the only real difference i could see was that the restricted ones (grey one) are not full bore, the black ones are a staight through hole the same size all the way, but the grey ones are choked off with a moulding which reduces the diameter, the start diameter looks the same as the black one so i figure just drilling out the choke would do the same as swapping for the black parts, there may be other differences i couldn't see but thats what it looked like to me, so when i put it all back together i put a drop or two of pellgun oil on all the moving parts and put a few (half a tin ) of pellets through it to bed everything back in, and to re zero my sights, now all is well, and i can hear and see the difference in power, i have a 50 gal oil drum i use as a burn barrel,at about 35-40 feet, before, it hardly made a sound and barely took the paint off, NOW it clangs and takes paint off, AND knocks off soot from the inside, so i am very happy! thanks yet again for the hints and tips, can't believe i've had 1077's for years and never found this site, ut i sure am glad i did, ! cheers all, CC
