Hi Guys,
I think this forum is excellent & has got members that are really helpful.
But one thing I have noticed though is that a lot of what is discussed is more relevant to North America.
I am thinking of starting a regular newsletter, geared mainly for the Crosman 1077 owner but also relevant to other C02 guns. I hope all topics will be covered including hunting, plinking, gun mods, maintenance, etc.
It will be geared towards the UK & European user, with info more relevant to this geographical area.
If anyone would be interested in recieving a copy or has any suggestions, want to write an article etc, please let me know on this forum or email me at
You have the best of both worlds with your globe trotting.
I am putting the finishing touches to a 1077 that I have been developing for some time, pre-dominantly for rat hunting. I hope to have this in the 1st edition.
It's a silenced 1077 with a Skeleton Stock, Bulk Fill (via belt mounted bottle & remote hose) & modified to develop approx 9 ft lbs (I need to Chrono it to confirm this). With Prometheus PPP1 pellets it will punch clean through two baked bean tins at approx 20 yards.
My power mod, is actually making more efficient us of the C02 used with each Valve / Hammer strike. I have made the Hammer strike slightly harder with a spring mod, but can get 24 full power shots from a 12g C02 capsule + another 12 good plinking shots. Haven't checked the shot useage yet with the Bulk fill.
I'm a toolmaker by trade & a Graduate Mechanical Engineer by profession, so I have a good handle on the theory & practical sides of C02 guns.
A mate of mine who I recently modd'd his 1077 has suggested that I make a business from air gun smithing (I get 1 or 2 jobs a month through word of mouth making muzzle breaks, tuning mods, etc which helps me subsidise my shooting hobby). I'm not sure a full time living could be made from such endeavours though, although it would be a dream job for me :0)
Another suggestion is to start a C02 syndicate via the newsletter, where people sign up & benefit from a syndicate bulk order discount & also cost efficient postage. The cheapest I can get C02 capsules for in the UK are 50p each (including postage). I reckon with a syndicate this could be driven down to approx 40p each.
Obviously the more interest I can drum up the better.
If you have any ideas for the newsletter I would be pleased to hear them.

Thanks All for your response. Would anyone be interested in a UK based C02 buying syndicate to keep the costs of C02 capsules down ?
If people can tell me what they pay for C02 capsules (12 & 88 gramme capsules) I can look at reducing it (I pay 50 pence per capsule including postage).
