For all 1077 fans out there who want to get rid of their 12 grs. powerlets, here's an idea we would like to share.
After we found out that Cooper-T's adapters were not available anymore, my son and I came up with this. We know that some of our fellow 1077 shooters don't like the idea of an external CO2 line. Nevertheless, it's the only way for us to get lots of cheap shooting and fun, at least until our good friend Muzzle Mack finishes his new and long awaited Bulk Fill 1077 Project.(Come on Joe, we are counting on you for this one.)
For this project you are going to need a 1077 Upgrade Adapter Kit. First, start by unscrewing the adapter's extension tube out of the main body asemble. (The part that goes inside the 1077.) For some of you guys with basic knowledge, you will notice a very strange thread. Jr. and I took the extension tube to a local machine shop and the owner, who happens to be a very good friend, converted the strange thread into a normal, friendly and very well known 1/8 NPT thread. The whole process only took less than ten minutes.
From here it was very easy. We went to a local Home Depot and got ourselves a 1/8 brass pipe fitting for less than $3.00. (For reference purposes only, it was a Watts A-700 brass fitting.)
To complete this project, you will also need the following products that you will easily find on any local paintball shop or even E-Bay;
1) A paintball tank (we used a 12 oz. tank),
2) A heli-coil remote hose with quick disconnect valve,
3) A 1/8 quick disconect paintball fill nipple adapter and;
4) Teflon tape.
We still have to add an in a line bleed valve to our project, so don't forget to get one.
Since Puerto Rico has about an average 84 degrees temperature all year round, we don't expect any of the troubles associated with CO2 in colder countries. Anyway, Im sure Jr. and I will be experimenting very soon with HPA, regulated at 850 psi's.
There's a good sequence of pictures. We are sure you will all get the idea.
Have fun.
