Hello,
I'd like to remove my front sight to install a stabilizer for the barrel. The crosman website has a parts diagram that indicates a screw holding the front sight on, but mine doesn't have one - maybe it's only on some years? Mine seems like it's in there very solidly. Does anyone know if it's possible to remove the sight without disassembling the whole gun? I don't want to apply too much force, but I even tried grabbing with needle nose pliers and it would not budge.
Mine (2007 model) just tapped out, there was no screw.
The sight normally holds in place by a slight interference fit with the outer barrel (sleeve) + it also locates in a slot in the top of the outer barrel.
Once off I found I could push the sight on & off by wearing thick gloves & pushing it off (I did have a big breakfast that day though :0) ).
i removed mine as did mattw975.... it will push out by hand if u have a working man's callouses:-)..... seriously, u can tap (on the ridges) w/a dowel or something that won't damage the sight.... if all ur doing is installing the shim then it s/b installed flush w/the barrel end.... if ur going to install a muzzle break plus reinstall the sight then the shim needs to be recessed.... hth.... good gunning, pops
