My DD was not on the large size but has always loved to eat. I too tried the Baby Whisperer. I guess I gave it about 3-4 weeks. My friend across the street said it worked great for her DD who is about 5 months older than my DD so I figured okay. But I eventually realized it was not right for my DD. So from about the time she was 5-6 weeks old until she was about 3-4 months old, we went back to feeding on demand. I had a much happier baby and a much happier mommy since I was not so stressed about keeping to the 3 hour schedule. I think it does work for some babies or mommies but this is not a one size fits all thing. DD's every 3 hour schedule eventually evolved, although we still have sleep issues (major problem has been 7 ear infections this winter which meant very limited ability to sleep train -- this is not really to do with her schedule from a year ago -- she is 16 months now.)
