Yikes! How accurate are the ultrasounds at.....

determining the weight of the baby? It sounds as if I am going to have a BIG baby. A week ago the doctor ordered an ultrasound for my GC. Where she is at, it is done in the radiology dept and they took measurements. Then she went to her appt this week and the OB gave her the results. He said that the baby is measuring in the 99% (well, at least he is still on the charts). He said that the baby is almost 9 lbs and measuring just over 4000grams. And if the baby gets to be over 5000grams he is required to recommend a c-section. Mind you, the ultrasound was a week ago. I'm sure the baby is still growing, right? The doctor ordered another ultrasound to be done, and she has an appt next week.

Out of curiosity, what do you all think? What has been your experience. How accurate are the ultrasounds when they take measurements, etc.?
