Dear borad buds, I had the best Mother's day gift given to me already this morning. It wasn't wet and sticky kisses, a Pancake shaped in the letter, "M" or a metaphoric poem my 13 year old gave to me...although I did receive those already and they were lovely...no it was when I opened our local newspaper and saw that they had published the letter I wrote in honour of my mom.
A few weeks ago our paper said they were looking for Mother's Day stories and so I got my little notebook out and went to work. I was kind of sad that I hadn't heard back from them as I had given them my contact number...oh well. But when I opened up the lifestyle's section of the paper and there was a full page with my mom's picture and my story.
I hope you will all enjoy it...I wanted to share it with you as you all know I believe we are all connected on this planet...that we don't have to share genetics to be mother's to our children, or sisters to our dear board buds...we are spirits first living an earthly existence. We are here to learn...although my mom didn't write a pulitzer prize winning novel, or discover the cure for cancer...she touched many people's lives simply by reminding us what is truly important while we are on this earth...to love one another.
