It's funny. I never really cared, but I know a lot of people do. I get asked a lot if we are going to try for a 3rd, for a girl. I get asked this even if I confess my age, so I suspect the bias against older mothers is somewhat regional or something. At least in my life, no one seems to blink.
I think each gender division has its benefits. I will admit that seeing my 2 boys race around being boys is beyond adorable. Dh & I each have an opposite gender sibling & that's it, so we're hoping our boys have a closeness that we did not with our siblings. (Obviously personality plays the biggest role here.)
Tonight they were both playing in the mud together in the backyard & it was just so sweet. And then we came in the house & ds #1 ended up in a time out for hitting his little brother. Sigh.
