I'll try to get this out without too many details, but we're supposed to provide a book for an expectant mom as part of a group effort.
Dh went to the store today, as it's easier for him to run this errand due to work location & flexibility.
He asked for a list. I gave him my top 3 picks & said "board books." The reason being is that little hands can't tear pages, the small size is manageable with squirming kids, & toddlers can easily handle them. Our ds #2 currently LOVES to bring us board books to read.
He comes home with my top pick, but it was not only a regular hardbound book but it was HUGE.
So I'm irritated b/c we're almost out of time to get this done AND he didn't actually read my email carefully. (Surprise!)
He has offered to return it, but he is also concerned they may not have it in a board book. He may be right. I know this store has board books, but I'm unsure of the selection.
So here's my frivolous question - should I just suck it up & give this HUGE book or try for a small board book? Maybe I'm in the minority & board books aren't the huge plus to others that I think they are. (Not that we don't have regular books. We do, but the board books are great & that's what I wanted, darn it.)
If the book was the size of, say, a Golden Book, I would just forget it, but it's bigger than that.
