it's 200 degrees here so we are stuck inside all day. we broke out the candy land game for the first time and the ball is such a sore loser. if he's not winning, he whines and throws the game pieces and the cards. or if he gets stuck on the licorice he gets all pissed that he has to skip a turn. is he a sore loser or just bratty? either way, it's no fun. i feel like this behavior goes hand in hand with not listening. he's also not great when it comes to sharing, i would say it's 50/50 sharing/not sharing. and he'll do obnoxious things like if we are sharing a drink, he'll down the whole glass when it's his turn to take a sip. not always, but it's hit or miss with the sweet vs bratty behavior. when he's at school, he is much more compliant, a model student really.
any suggestions on how to make him more of a good sport? what could be a fun day indoors is just ending up with us reprimanding him. granted none of us can stand being cooped up. well, that's not true... dh and i are happy homebodies but we always get out at least twice a day with the ball. he is too high energy to stay inside all day. right now he's playing "mommy t-rex" to the baby t-rex (the long-suffering puff LOL.)
please don't suggest any books. i either need you to tell me this behavior is normal for a 3.5 yr old or give me solid suggestions/coping mechanisms. sorry i'm foul today. this weather is ridiculous.
