Chapter 5

The following week was really hard, especially since I saw Lenny every night. He refused to speak to me so I couldn’t even try to explain and try to get him to see that he was being unreasonable. I couldn’t even get him to stay in the same room with me for more than a few minutes.

It was the end of another successful concert and I was cleaning up the room when I see Lenny standing there for a couple of minutes, then turning and walking out. I sigh as I come to the realization that he’s got his foot up his ass and won’t talk to me. I finish up the room and leave heading towards the parking lot where my rental car was. I just wanted to go to the hotel and take a nice hot bubble bath to wash my worries away.

As I’m heading to my car I take notice of my surroundings and see that there isn’t anyone else around. I felt like someone was watching me, looked around but didn’t see anyone. I continue to my car walking a little faster, just wanting to get to it so I could feel safe. Just as I get to my car I feel someone grab me from behind. I was about to scream when I feel their hand cover my mouth. I struggle trying to get away but they have a good hold on me, dragging me to a corner of the parking lot that I noticed was dark and secluded. I continue to struggle trying to get away and I could tell that who ever had me was getting angry by me struggling against them. He gets me to the dark corner and slams me up against a brick wall making me hit my head. I literally saw stars when my head hit the wall. He could tell hitting my head affected me so he did it again knocking me unconscious.

----At the hotel----

Steve had a room next to Amanda’s and he was getting worried because he hadn’t heard her come back yet. He knew the past week had been hard, he noticed how Lenny was acting and figured that their relationship was over. Maybe he was wrong, maybe it had just been a fight and Amanda was in his room now. To help cure his anxiousness he leaves his hotel room arriving a few minutes later in front of Lenny’s. He knocks and waits for the door to be answered.

Lenny answers the door, “Hey Steve. What’s up?”

Steve asks, “Is Amanda here with you?”

Lenny says, “No. Why would she be here? I haven’t been with her in a week.”

Steve says, “I thought something was wrong but I didn’t want to stick my nose in where it didn’t belong. I was actually hoping she was here with you. She hasn’t gotten back from the arena yet and I’m starting to worry.”

Lenny asks, “How do you know she isn’t back yet?”

Steve says, “My room has always been next to hers. I didn’t hear her come back yet tonight. I already called down to the hotel bar and she isn’t there either.”

Lenny says, “Maybe she went somewhere else.”

Steve says, “I’m kinda hoping she did. If you hear from her please just let me know that she’s okay. I’m going to wait a little longer and then if she isn’t back I’m going to go look for her.”

Lenny replies, “Okay, if I hear from her I’ll let you know. Same goes for you. Even though we aren’t together doesn’t mean I don’t care about her.”

Steve just nods and walks back towards his own room. He had twisting knot in his stomach that was telling him something was wrong. He decided not to wait any longer and headed down to the parking lot to his rental car. He just keeps hoping that she’s okay as he drives towards the arena.
