Turkish U-214 sinking?

Despite having a good laugh with the Greek U-214 saga, Greeks may soon return the laughter to us.

Contract for 6 U-214 submarines have been signed in februari 2011, since that time there is no to little movement nor has the construction of the first U-214 started.

If taking in account that it takes 4 years to construct a submarine (and we have almost finished 2012) it is highly unlikely to see them before 2017/2018 in our inventory while initially it was planned to have them in service by 2015 (impossible now).

This delay brings us slowly into the same dillema as the Greek navy, namely the older type submarines are passing their retirement age and replacement is not there yet.
