Would there be a minority issue in Thrace without the corrosive action of the Turkish Consulate in Komotini?
Everyone knows the real reason behind the numerous problems in the area, but nobody dares to name it explicitly. At the same time, nobody dares to highlight the security issue for the Greek state and the majority, the issue of the democratisation and integration of the minority, as well as the issue of rationalisation and normalisation of political and economic life in Thrace.
Who needs the Turkish Consulate in our city?
- Are there any Turkish nationals in Thrace?
- Are there really so many bureaucratic procedures in place especially after the abolition of visas for Turkey that would justify the presence of such a highly-staffed and costly service in Komotini?
- Are there minority rights issues within modern Greece, a member of the EU, which would require the presence of such a guarantor, e.g. those of the Turkish-occupied Kurdistan?
- Or does the Lausanne Treaty, which Turkey has turned into a piece of toilet paper from the day it was signed, require the presence of its own violator?
The answer is obviously negative to all these questions, as dictated by common sense.
Why is it then that the Turkish Consulate exists in Thrace?
- Is it to maintain a false flag diversion leading our fellow Muslim citizens to form a closed population that refuses to integrate?
- Is it to put in place or manipulate selected minority leaders in order to control the minority?
- Is it to contemplate how to Turkify Pomaks and Roma and through this ethnic cleansing to create a Turkish minority?
The local community is well aware of all these, but remains silent.
We all seem to accept the presence of the cat among the pigeons, some due to financial interests, others due to their political aspirations, and some others due to their complacency to the excuse of a competent state that supposedly knows what needs to be done.
However, there is an urgent need for a public, democratic debate on the issue and the Thracian society should be able to express its will. We need a social movement, one that will highlight the real problems of the area that have reached such a fever point that their solution is a necessary condition for progression and survival. This is both on a collective and individual level.
The removal of the Turkish Consulate from Komotini is such a major issue that it should not be allowed to remain hidden under an everlasting silence. If we are a truly civil society, we have the right to freedom of speech and our voices should be heard!
I remembering reading in Speros Vryonis's The Mechanism of Catastrophe: The Turkish Pogrom of September 6-7, 1955, and the Destruction of the Greek Community of Istanbul that Turkey has three embassies and consulates alone in Greek Thrace. Really Ankara tries diligently to form a parallel administration by promoting their own leaders, seemingly civil groups that operate under their control, trying to promote their own muftis with fake mufti elections, they have entered the banking sector of the region aggressively offering lower interests than all Greek banks(which even Greek Neo-Ottoman losers are taking up not wary at all of the future risk this presents), etc. Neoklis Sarris in one Tomes broadcast said that the amount of money Turkey dumps into West Thrace now equals the amount they dump into their sandjak of Cyprus and that they openly are pursuing the Turkish Cypriot model there.
In related developments the Turkish newspaper Sabah is rumbling that Karatzaferis is gonna appear in the ballot for the Prefecture of Rhodope:

They are worried that he is the only politician willing to stand against Ankara and its local fascist Kemalist and Islamist tribesmen in Thrace.
WASHINGTON: ...Congressman Thomas G Tancredo, Republican from Colorado, was being interviewed by AM 540 WFLA radio host Pat Campbell, who asked him what the response of the United States should be were terrorist attacks on US cities to take place and were attributable to extremist Muslims. The Congressman replied, ... then we could take out their holy sites. Asked if that meant Mecca, Tancredo answered, Yes.

Nikifore, very good point made and I am glad you brough it up. The Turkish Consulate serves no purpose none other to agitate the minority against Greece. They even went as far as intervening with the Mufti election by pointing out their own candidates instead of the legal ones appointed by the Greek state. The majority Greeks of Thrace are fed up with them but the closing down has been prevented by Neo-Ottoman elements (ypermaxoi ellhnotourkikhs synomospondias) of the government who have interests with the presence of Turks, mind you, they even allowed an opening of a turksih bank in Komotini.
Loot at the photo below, the same people who organized this are tolerating the consulate

Over 10,000 Turks from Turkey come to Greece to vote in the elections under the slogan of "a Turkish vote for a Turkish candidate" supported by Turkish TRT(State television),the local Turkish language Birlik newspaper and also the two sniveling Neo-Ottomanist Greek political parties: Panhelenik Sosyalist Hareket (PASOK) and Yeni Demokrasi (ND). As if that was not bad enough the loser Greek Neo-Ottomans parties even arranged for Thracian Turks in Germany to fly in on several airplanes to vote!
My, my, what a loser state and people are the modern Greeks. There is absolutely nothing else to say. I sincerely hope the Greeks here do not expect the world to care when Turkey swallows them up and they disappear like so many stateless peoples before them.

Turks can't mind their own business. In Bulgaria and in Greece trying to influence local elections. And you wonder why you're hated and despised? And why Muslim Greeks are considered the LOWEST ethnicity?
the Turkish consulate needs to be wipped out of Thrace, the first step has already been taken although a little bit too late and after the wide publicity of the journalists im talking about the Turkish journalist who raised the Turkish flag on Imia this pig from now on has been put on black list and is considered to be persona non grata
the next step should be the Turkish consulate and the Turkish traitors who although still maintain their Greek citizenship they were taking orders from it to spy against Greece.
a cleasing from dirtness needs to be done in Thrace the sooner the better for us
next should be the time to deal with "rainbow" this treacherous organization needs simply to cease to exist, its members and especially the leaders should be deported and be put on a black list like the Turkish journalists
it is absolutely necessary to deal with the parasites and traitors who have been acting for free in our country all those years, unless we put an end to this situation difficult days lie ahead of us as a nation

The Turkish consulate will stay open as long as the Greek consulate is not closed in Istanbul. This agreement comes from the Lausanne Treaty. As you know Western Thrace and Istanbul populations were exempt from the population exchange.
really?,the greek population of constantinople was exempt?
so how many greeks are there now?
no my dear pathfinder, those turks in thrace are not exempt!but our sold out politicians
didnt do their job well like the bulgarians who on a whim kicked out their problem in the early 80's.
when the greeks were being pogromed we missed our cue to recipricate.to either stop the pogrom or to re settle them in the newly vacted homes in thrace.
so much for our patriotic right wing governments.
hellenes get it through your heads, there is no such thing as left wing or right wing leaders
at the time of the Lausanne Treaty the Greek-orthodox population of istanbul was almost 4 times the muslim population of Thrace. based on that the current status should also change in order for the ratio to be maintained. so all muslims from Thrace should be deported except from 700-800 or so.
