Looks like it's Georgaki in Greece.

Greeks keep on voting for everyone who promises them to he'll keep on spending. Until there's nobody left to lend Greece anymore money, that is.

Georgaki had it great being on the opposition. He didn't have to provide leadership, just shoot his mouth off. Now he has to come up with solutions and it's not going to be easy. Adding $ 3 Billion to the Greek national debt so he doesn't have to cut spending on his favorite programs is simply idiotic, but that's what Greeks want. Not solutions, just more putting off the day of reckoning.

Landos we owe up to 100% of our GDP with a deficit of 7-8%.If we don`t take serious
measures and fix our economy in a matter of 4-5 years we will beg IMF like Turks to save
our collapsing economy.

We must limit corruption and waste of public spending.

"We must limit corruption and waste of public spending."

I agree, but you're not going to get that with Papandreou. He's already stated his 'plan' for fixing the economy is BORROWING AND SPENDING MORE MONEY. That's not addressing the problems, it's just adding more debt.

This guy is the wrong guy for the times, but Greeks never look past their own noses when it comes to voting. They just want to get their 'slow' cousin Niko a civil servant job so he won't embarass the family and starve. PASOK will do that, ND is less likely to.

Who's going to pay the debt off? Hey, why worry about that?! Let the next generation solve that problem! Let's have a Frappe, smoke some cigarettes and watch girls!

That`s true Landos,we had to minimise our public sector and instead we get more and more employes
for our public services. We must minimise corruption but we do nothing.

Don`t blame Parandreoy or Karamanlis on that, people are just lazy and have an idiotic way of thinking
that the state will feed them while they`ll do minila work if any...

come on guys....

same **** different day...

their cut from the same cloth, sold to the same political forces...

we need new leadership, younger new leaders who are prepared to think of Greece first and who don't bend over to the US or the EU, taking the Greek people with them every time their asked.....

Watch this space, I believe Dora will eventually lead New Democracy, i have a feeling that Papandreou will **** things up and will be toppled internally....not necessarily a bad thing.....i would like to see a stronger more idealistic leader come through the ranks, like Venizelos etc....

sick of the same two families, three if you toss in Mitsotakis and his rotten seed...

i honestly feel Greece with these two parties has no direction, no vision, no geopolitical strategy or goals.....

The truth is Greece has NO political leadership. There are so many problems (economic and social) facing Greece that it is frightening to be honest. Neither PASOK or ND are capable of doing anything. The ONLY bet is to follow (strictly) an economic plan presented by the EU. That is why I don't think it makes a difference if ND or PASOK are in power as they have to follow the same austerity plans.

Personally I hope the economy goes bankrupt (it's almost there), so I can buy assets (specifically real estate) for cheap.

The smugness of so many people in Greece really turns me off, upsets me, but at the same time makes me laugh. The country is so fvcked yet they vote in socialist that helped fvck it. I no longer debate with friends and family from Greece on political matters. They simple know everything (but if they actually knew so much the country wouldn't be the disgrace it is right now).

Doesn't anyone see a problem with Greece being a "heriditary democracy"? Don't they see anything wrong with the huge levels of debt? Don't they see problems with a party that FVCKED Greece for so long back in power?

As for the turks, don't be too happy or negative, because your country is even more fvcked.

Greek democracy happy.gif Chosing between bad and evil.

Now a lot of ND officials in public sectors are going to be replaced by Pasok officials. All these officials will run a new corruption rally to enrich themselves.

Greece will lower the pants to their heels and bendover evenmore to the EU to grant them some more bakhsis.

Sell out of state property (in the name of privatizing) will take a leap.

Georgiaki will come with broken knees and concessions to Turkey, we love Georgiaki happy.gif

Concessions to Turkey?

The crazy inbred midget keyboard warriors at it again.

I don't like PASOK, but they don't make concessions to the Turks. Never have, never will.

Greece is in rough shapre right now, but Turkey is royally fvcked. As a third worlder - because that's what Turks are - I won't accept any critique from you. From a German, Austrian or Frenchman yes, but not from a third worlder.

Karamanlis resign from the post of party leader of ND. ND future uncertain.
Until now 160 seats for PASOK in Bouli and the luxury to form one-party government for mister Papandreou.

Until now KKE get only 20 seats but remain 3th party.

BTW by now the PASOK majority sth Boulh seems to be even more stronger than the former ND majority. ND had 152 seats in the former parliament and PASOK gather 160 by now. This mean the new government will be more strong and stable and this is good news for Greece, no matter of the party colour.

160 seats is very stable.
This is problem,lol.
Cause PASOK wil never go for early election as Nea Dimokratia did during their times 1990-1993 and 2004-2009.
The country may sink but PASOK does not care as long they have power.

Stability is the most important thing during wartime and Greece will need most of all inner stability in the coming war period. This was the true reason behind those elections made by a responsible leader like Kostas Karamanlis. He was a satrap of the "Great king" (US), but still was a brave man who loved his country.

Foreign policy will not change much, because it's formulated mainly by career civil servants. Georgaki will mess with it at his peril.

As for domestic policy the best thing that could happen is for lending institutions to flip-off PASOK when they try and borrow more money to spend on their programs. No money, no spending. Greece has enough debt, it's time to continue cutting back spending. I don't care which party does it as long as it continues to do it. The days of socialism are over with.

as far as managing the economy goes its no different than an individual managing his own personal finances.

i remember when i was young and got my first job i complained to my old man about how little i earned as it wasnt enough to allow me to buy the things i wanted.my father replied"its not about how much one earns ,its about how one manages it"

and here is the problem with greek spending,it doesnt matter that they spend, its more like where they spend it on.

Consecutive PASOK governments showed they couldn't control spending. ND tried to reign in spending, but their efforts were hamstrung by the worse economic recession in 50 years.

Best thing to happen would be for private banks to refuse to lend more money to Greece. Cut Georgaki off at the revenue side. Force him to keep on cutting spending. He'll never do it without that discipline.

As it was expected Greek people are not mature yet to understand that voting thieves and liars , voting the 2 big parties and certain families is something against democracy.

they had been acting and they continue to do so like slaves and idiots.

Congratulations animals for bringing back to power PASOK who had been robbering our country for 20 years, their arrogance and their lies lead our country in this point and Karamanlis later on finished off what had remained intact by his extreme honesty.

you are worthy for your own leaders and your own fate

i just feel bad about those who did not vote for the 2 big parties and will be forced to watch their country to be destroyed due to the stupidity of the majority

all those years you have learned nothing, you are corrupted and pathetic you dont deserve to be called Greeks you are Ottoman slaves.

Unfortunately dark times are waiting our country under the leadership of George Papandreou and Pasok.

We enter an era where the financial destruction cannot be prevented anymore, dark days lie ahead of our nation and those who voted like animals PASOK they will come to a point that they will dont have the money to buy the necessary for their families, unemployment and external debth will climb to the top

and our armed forces will be degraded.

So animals, you will soon understand what you have done to youselves and the rest of us, especially what you brought upon our country.

days of misery are waiting our nation, we have entered a situation that there is going to be no way back for us, i expect destruction and disaster to prevail everywhere.

Due to my extreme anger and biterness due to the current political situation in Greece i decided to abstain from participating in this forum for indefinite time.

Ive said it before and I'll say it again, PASOK NEVER abondones the armed forces. They actually spend more than ND on the army. There are "commissions" paid on weapons deals, and there's nothing "socialists" love more than millions in Swiss bank accounts.

What's a Greek voter supposed to do? The two main parties serve up their Karamanlis/Papandreou/Mitsotakis crap candidates and you either vote for them or for some third party that his little to no chance of making any difference.

More than anyone I blame the Greek media. The wealthy families that own the major newspapers and media are more to blame than anything else for the state of Greek politics. They promote those candidates. They give them favorable coverage, publicity, push their interests.

If the Media power centers in Greece really wanted good candidates running for office the Greek people would get them. They don't. What does that tell you?

Why do you think so many Greeks have flipped off the Old Country and moved abroad? If you aren't on top in Greece the powers-that-be that are will assure you never get there. They don't want the competition.
