The new 2009 United Nations Human development index issued.

This unique index measures the delelopment of a country, aka developed, developing and least developed.

Greece is no 25 in the world, with a very high human development index, aka developed.

Turkgay is no 79 in the world, with high human development, aka developing.

Note that Turkgay is BEHIND countries like ALBANIA, COLOMBIA and GRENADA...

Also note that based on HDI trends, Turkgey had an HDI index in 2006 of 0.806

Greece in 1980 had an HDI index of 0.844.

That means that Turkgay is much worse than what was Greece 30 years ago!!!!!

It seems that between Greece and Turkgay there is about 35 years of difference in development LOLOL

Hey.. Turkey is improving in a high speed.

Turkey was listed 110 just about 4-5 years ago.

Jumping down 35 odd spots is a big improvement.

I can just imagine what position Turkey would be in the next 10 years.. in around 30th spot

Meanwhile i live in a country that is listed in the 2nd spot of HDI.

Free health care, high life expectancy, national average income of $50 thousand dollars..

Relax man!

If Grease was well and truly a developed country, it would poses high tech industries and hi tech clean cities with architectural marvels

it is all because they include kurds to "human" development index while kurds and being human totally irrevelant.

It looks like Grease has lost 7 spots from the year before.. This is good indicators that Grease is slowly becoming a 3rd world slumhole as we all knew it in the beginning

Grease 2009 - 25th

Grease 2010 - ?? Most likely 33th

Grease 2011 - ?? National debt is above 115% so HDI falls down to 45th spot

First if all Greece in the last HDI,was no 24. There was a statistical update that placed Greece no 18.

If you were a little bit clever and saw the HDI indexes, you would see that all countries from 1 to 25 have similar indexes +/- 10 decimals, i.e. 0.942-0.955...

Thats so easily to go from 15 to 25 and vice versa. All such countries are similar in development more or less.

The gap is between us (meaning highly developed countries) and you (rathole 3rd world countries) were the gap in HDI index is vast.

So stop talking out of your Mongol azz and read the report!

Greece has like 800.000 Albos, Turcos, Pakis, Nigros, Afgans and who knows what sht and is among the top countries worldwide.

Similarly Germany, Canada, US, UK, Spain.

With this year's list Turkey passed from Medium development to High development. We were no. 93 two years ago while we are at the 79th spot now.

Meanwhile Greece is at a good situation thanks to its EU membership and low population; we know that Greece and "high-tech" or "industry" doesn't match. However I congratulate Greece for its position.

As far as Greece, even before EU entry, that is 70's and early 80s, it used to have a high HDI. Greece joined the ''advanced/developed club'' in the early 80s, so the EU just helped expedite things.

I am pleased to see that there are ''thinking'' Turcos like you and not pricks like Drunkenface who challenges Greece's infastructure! LOL

Being among the most developed nations worldwide and having organized the Olympics, qualifies, i believe, for a hell of an infastructure.
