One of SSM's projects is to upgrade Turkey's aging Oerlikon GDF-007 twin 35mm cannons.

In the upgrade program 118 GDF-007 cannons with get the ability to shoot AHEAD munition, Aselsan is to provide the search & fire control radar.

Aselsan is to produce 57 fire control systems.

Composition of the Turkish skyguard system is most likely:
2 GDF Oerlikon twin 35mm with AHEAD
1 Towed short range AD missile unit (indigenous)
1 Aselsan search & fire control radar (indigenous)

The formation of Turkey's airdefence systems get more and more shape.

For the LALADMIS project (short range airdefence missile) the South African Umkhonto IR missile looks to be the one, negotiations continue (range 12km, ceiling 8km)
[linked image]

The MALADMIS project (medium range airdefence missile) will most likely become the BAMSE RBS-23 missile (range 20km, ceiling 15km)

Other airdefence project, the SPAAG project

Greeks buy everything as of the shelf package.

Turkey is using some indigenous input and purchase technology to fill the missing.

The idea is to upgrade 118 GDF twin guns for ahead ammo in cooperation with oerlikon, use an Aselsan radar/Firecontrol unit (57 systems). Roketsan is tasked with designing a VLS system (45 systems). Since negotiations with Denel on the Umkhonto IR missile are in a far state we can assume that this missile will be produced by Roketsan with either license or tech transfer.

We have been developing AAA systems over the past 20 years, notably the Artemis-30. Today we are protecting our AFB's with the newly upgraded Skyguard/Velos systems complemented by the ingenous Artmenis-30. How about you? Still using the old 12,7mm?

lol Grease "developing AAA systems" for the past 20 years..

VII_PZ_DIV SHUT THE PHUCK UP, EAT **** AND DIE. Maybe there's more use of you as a fertilizer then alive.

On 12 June 1992, a Greek Mirage F-1C crashed during a dogfight with a Turkish F-16 piloted by Capt. Ilhan Filiz.

On 8 October 1996, a Greek Mirage-2000 piloted by Thanos Grivas shot down a Turkish F-16D with a Magic IR missile.

Just two days after that murder, on 10 October 1996 a Greek Mirage-2000 crashed close to Semadirek island after a dogfight with two Turkish F-16s.

Point of the story is: TUAF saved itself two missiles.

The 30mm barrel is from Mauser, of course. The Electro-optics, sights hydraulic system and chasis were designed by HAI. That was in 1988, 21 years before you decide to make your stuff.

Seriously, drop this defence conversation and stick to your camel rental business for tourists.

Actually the optics and all other equipment was made in Switzerland. You griks only have a license to produce it that's all.

The only indigenous detail is the Greek olive oil which they use for greasing the mechanical parts.

Don't bother, I did the research for you.

Turkish fags using oil to grease each other's arse. A Turkish gay tradition from Mongoliam, predating their arrival in Anatolia.
