Wha happened with the deal Grekos? Seems that Grekos are again looking at 2nd hand M2 bradleys and the German Marder.
Hehehe damn Germanics they never do something for free, they put a carrot of 160 Leopard 2A4 in front of your nose but want you to purchase the Marders.

Well, seen there is no such a requirement from our army I guess we don't need it. Allthough I must add that I read something in S&H magazine that there are considerations of wheeled armored vehicles with 105mm cannon. But wether such will be chosen is still not clear yet.

The Swedish CV90 would be a great platform for us. Since Hägglunds have some economical problems, I guess we can manage to get great tech-transfer and co-operation on a new platform as well.
i had a lot of reservations about the hellenic army going for the BMP-3M. i think what we need is an AIFV to support the MBTs and be capable of taking a few licks from 20mm or rpg fire. the BMP-3 is almost the inverse of that. it has enough firepower to seize ground all by itself against anything short of MBT's, and armor protection was the sacrificial design element.
i don't know if the hellenic army wants the BMP-3 for MBT support or for a more agressive mech-inf doctrine, but as i see it PUMA or CV-90 are the best choices. hell i don't know if they want it at all... greek arms procurement can get so political at times that its hard to make sense of it.

If so, any chance of going back to Kentauros? (Speaking of which, why did that fall through? I don't really know much about the project other than the specs on wikipedia. lol)

Azerbaijan has about 10 BMP3s and 60-70 more on order.
Its ace and would not compare it to any other IFVs out there.

The best option is utilize the 1 billion + Euros to upgrade the existing M-113 fleet. First class opportunity for the indigenous def industry to grow. As for the BMP-3M, we know it from Cyprus NG, it is not compatible with Hellenic needs.

anyway lets come back to the topic , it seems that there is bad news i had been always in favor of BMP3 however im very displeased to say that the new government will screw up everything since the pimp has already offered his Bradleys, i bet that the new governemnt will succumb to the demands of the pimp to buy American used material.
so as i said from the beginning this government will probably ruin everything.
You see i kept my promise Nutuk and as long as i learned the first news i was quick to post them in your thread. It seems that the prospect of buying new vehicles is very far. The government claims that she will examine all canditaships from zero base, this practically means that we should wave good bye to our good relationships with the Russians and their vehicles.
The Germans will probably try to promote their own Marders they already made the beginning with the used Leos.
I can predict a gaitanaki (type of dance) of useless agreements which will be imposed on us by the pimp and major other powers alot of pieces of junk for our arsenal especially if we choose Brandley after American pressure, and of course bribery will reign once again.
as i said the future is pretty bleak.

Well don't worry, Bradly is in principle the same vehicle as "our" ACV-S
Bradley
ACV-S
However I think the Pasok government will sail more along the path of Germany, with Marders and 2A4's for Greece, although bradley + M113 upgrade going to the Americans is not unthinkable too.

as i said the future is bleak i predict a severe deterioration to our relationship with the Russians and bowing our head to the pimp once again buying used material
i think its now time for all of us to wave good bye to our new Bmp3's
they wanted PASOK as a government and now we will pay the price as it seems.

Like a joke... What a banana 2nd hand country.... Do not you have a defence procurement policy ?

It looks like a joke, but do you guys realize that Greeks would get the best value for price / most tech transfer and workshare from Turkey if there had been a possibility. Ofcourse Greece would never buy FNSS ACV from Turkey as that would be regarded as a complete humiliation for their government.
Greek politics are so predictable (they are a twin clone of our political parties), meaning the new government will overthrow almost everything that the previous government did etc. Such discontinuations cost both our nations a lot, sadly.
