On 12 June 1992, a Greek Mirage F-1C crashed during a dogfight with a Turkish F-16 piloted by Capt. Ilhan Filiz.

On 8 October 1996, a Greek Mirage-2000 piloted by Thanos Grivas shot down a Turkish F-16D with a Magic IR missile.

Just two days after that murder, on 10 October 1996 a Greek Mirage-2000 crashed close to Semadirek island after a dogfight with two Turkish F-16s.

Point of the story is: TUAF saved itself two missiles.

Since we now have the core sonar technology, the rest of the applications is only a matter of time.

Those that i've listed above is what makes up a Submarines sonar suite, and with the large offset in place with the U-214TN deal it's only a matter of time before Turkey decides to develop a submarine of it's own with indigenous capabilities.

What does the U-214TN offset package for Turkey entail? About 50% Turkish parts? More, less?

"Turkish industrial participation in the project would be worth around 80% of the total value of the deal"

Most of the hull, all electronic and weapon systems (including the C4I system) will be of Turkish design and production. TN will pretty much be buying the propulsion and AIP systems from HDW and Siemens.

-Produce head section of submarines including torpedo room in Golcuk
-Produce all submarine body in Turkey
-All rights of Command-Control brain center of submarine with source-codes, new system integrations rights in future, new Turkish versions will belong to Havelsan...
-The cast section of sbmarines will be produced in Turkey
-All another methalic sections, auxiliary steel parts will also be produced by private firms of Turkey

Think U-214TN program like Turkish industry is going to develop an indigenous submarine with technological and design assistance of Germany... After U-214TN matured, We are going to modify our submarines whatever we want until all life times of subs... so The specifications of our versions will always be remained secret...
