On 12 June 1992, a Greek Mirage F-1C crashed during a dogfight with a Turkish F-16 piloted by Capt. Ilhan Filiz.
On 8 October 1996, a Greek Mirage-2000 piloted by Thanos Grivas shot down a Turkish F-16D with a Magic IR missile.
Just two days after that murder, on 10 October 1996 a Greek Mirage-2000 crashed close to Semadirek island after a dogfight with two Turkish F-16s.
Point of the story is: TUAF saved itself two missiles.
On May 23rd 2006, Two Greek F-16 fighters Scrambeled to intercept two Turkish F-16s that was escorting a Recon aircraft over the southern Aegean, After a short Mock-dogfight the Greek F-16 colided into the Turkish F-16. Turkish Pilot Lieutenant Halil Ibrahim Özdemir Ejected safely while the Greek pilot Lieutenant Konstantinos Kakkavas died instantly.
On December 4th 2007, a Greek F-16C participated in a night exercise in the Sporades archipelago, the pilot Lieutenant Athanasios Batsaras lost orientation thinking he was gaining altitude instead flew his aircraft into the sea. Athanasios Batsaras body was found latter on by a Turkish frigate which responded to the emergency call.
Point of the story is: Greeks don't know how to Fly.
On June 3rd 2003, a Greek F-16 block 30 Piloted by Captain Theodoros Pliatsikas crashed when a Bird was sucked into the air intake causing Engine Failure. Captain Theodoros Pliatsikas however was lucky enough to Eject and survived the incident with minor injury.
On June 4th 2009, a single seater Greek F-16 block 50 crashed in Ioannina after the plane ingested a bird. The pilot managed to eject from the plane with minor injury.
"Sazan" was the nickname of Ekber Onuk's son Kaan at the Lycée Saint Joseph in Istanbul, who died in a car accident, so it's actually a sad story. A bit like the Ferrari Dino (Enzo's son who died very young)
Eralp Noyan and Jan Nahum (the two chief designers of Anadol in the 1970s) contributed to its design (Eralp Noyan was also the designer of the Anadol STC-16)

No faggot the front looks much better than the Mclaren F1 and if its that easy to copy why cant we see any gayreeks making anything lol these gaylords think we scan the F1 and then print it lol its not that simple moron.
'looks better than McLaren F1" now that is a far stretch known to be exaggerated by dillusional "custom everything..indigenous..blah blah blah turco posers.
Nothing you make is original just 4rth grade imitations. you have nothing to be proud over except award winning championship kebabs.

Ohh boi you are so sad i guess your jealousy blinded you cause Onuk Sazan's front view looks ten times better than Mclaren F1, thats a fact.
Comon, im sure the onak is also 10 times better performer than F1, sure buddy. It doesnt look as good(look at the rear end..doesnt belong with the rest of the car) and nowhere does it have the total performance design or materials that the F1 has even if the F1 is over a decade old.
Instead of concentrating on unaffordable sports cars our industrial conglomerates should concentrate on essential simple cars to reduce exports from korea, japan etc.
They have the man-power,technology and knowledge to easily produce an alternative cheap car to Dacias, Hyundais etc.
The most sold cars are korean cars for now, that suck ass big time due to lack of quality. (I dont speak of top notch korean cars)

Today, I've read in the newspaper that some investors have decided to support Murat Gunak, the designer of many cars like the first Mercedes-Benz C-Klasse, the 1st SLK, Peugeot (206 CC, 307, and 607) and VW (Passat CC)..., for the creation of 3 electric cars. These cars will have a more affordable pricetag.

Very good developments indeed. Onuk is a great company, and Turkey needs enterpreneurs like Ekber Onuk very much.
After producing world class patrol boats now they are also producing automobiles. They are doing what our big conglomerates like Koc, Sabanci, OYAK fear to do. I also support the idea of producing low-end affordable family cars too. In this context I hope Murat Gunak and his 3 electric cars will be successful.
Does Onuk even have the capability to produce this car on mass? I know they cant provide quality or safety for now(due to the enormous lack of experience) but how are they going to convince people for this car except advocating to their nationalism?

Well, they also produce the Soyuz space rocket, Buran space shuttle, Mir space station, Antonov An-225 cargo aircraft, Sukhoi Su-37 Berkut jet fighter, etc...
And they also produce more motor vehicles than the United Kingdom at the moment: In 2008, Russia ranked 4th, the United Kingdom ranked 5th, Turkey ranked 6th and Italy ranked 7th in Europe in terms of motor vehicle production:
Turkish Onuk Sazan is like Ferrari Dino, only without pedigree
by Jonny Lieberman (RSS feed) on Nov 9th 2009 at 4:56PM
Need a reason to support Turkey's bid to become part of the European Union? Look no further than the Onuk Sazan, a brand-new sports car that depending on the engine might just slide its way into supercar territory. The Sazan was designed and built by a certain Dr. Onuk, who lost his son Kaan in a car accident. Sazan is a nickname for Kaan. Hence, the Onuk Sazan. Similar to Enzo and Dino Ferrari only, well... you know.
What makes an Onuk Sazan? Well, in base trim you're apparently talking about a 2,000-pound rear-wheel drive sportster that's powered by a turbocharged Nissan VQ V6 that's good for about 450 horsepower. Sounds great to us. However, what if for a little weight penalty you could step up to General Motors' LS7? That would net you about 512 hp, 480 lb-ft of twist and just 2,200 pounds of vehicle to move around. Now we're talking. Okay, but how much? This is the bad news: EUR 200,000, or about USD 300,000. That seems radically high to us, but we're not up on our Turkish financial analysis.
Knowing nothing else about the Sazan, all we can comment on are its looks, which for a bespoke sports car from a non-sports car making country aren't bad. The front has a quite a bit of TVR going on, but also some Ferrari F430 (air intakes) and Pagani Zonda (glass canopy). The rear is the Sazan's best angle, with more TVR evident, but in an organic, non-derivative way. The Sazan's weakest angle is when the car is viewed from the side. And really, the Spyker-looking profile isn't so terrible, but the wheels look rather dated. But that's an easy fix!
Before we go, we'd be derelict in our car scribin' duties not to mention Turkey's first sports car, the Anadol STC-16. Quite a looker, actually, the STC-16 was powered by a 1.6-liter Ford Mexico motor found in both the Cortina and Capri. While small and slow by contemporary standards, the STC-16 was enough of a runner to compete with the likes of the Datsun 240Z and was known at home in Turkey as "Süper Türk Canavari" (Super Turkish Monster)! According to our tipster, Onuk feels there is a link between the historic Anadol STC-16 and the new Sazan. We'll wait and see.
I also agree that the alloy wheels look outdated (they can easily be changed) and that the weakest angle is the side view (profile) which resembles the Dutch sports car Spyker, according to the author of the article.
As you may have noticed, the Nissan engine produces 450 HP while the General Motors engine produces 512 HP, but the latter adds a bit more weight to the car.
I personally think Turkey's future in the car branch lays in electrical cars.
Let's face it we stepped into the automobile business much much too late, yet again we managed to build up a decent production and spare parts industry. But we are too late to have our own brand that has to fight for a market share.
In electrical cars the market is still virgin and we are at the similar stages as the rest of the world. Especially with car designer Murat Gunak and his prototype mindset there is a way. Murat Gunak is going to design and produce 3 types of electrical cars (different designs than the mindset) which may position Turkey in the electrical car market.
I bet uncle Landos is going to oppose these views (he managed single handedly to crush the US auto industry )

Yes I can't say I like the looks of the mindset much either but the next designs will be different. However taking in mind that solar / electrical cars need roofspace for the solar panels they won't look very nice neither.
