Well about the published scientific articles in 1996~2010 Belgium is 20th globally and
Greece 26th. The conclusion is that Greece is doing ok at research so what`s the whole
point of this thread?
beryoza, look at what you posted. Look at the absolute number of articles published by "Belgium". It's 50% more than Greece. And if you look at the number of citations the gap between Greece and "Belgium" is huge. Just saying dude, this wasn't a good way to protect Greece.

Still Greece has done a good work in published scientific papers in 1996~2010 and has
similar numers compared to Denmark, Finland and even Israel.
Now citations/document doesn`t seem to be working well because USA is 15th in thw world.
One has to take into account tha number of the papers as well not just the citations/document
or else lets call Bermunda the next scientific superpowa.
My point remains, Greece so far has done very well with research so i find your
thread "weird" at least.

Why would greece spend money for such things while others can do it for free?
I think this "free" event lately is another invention of greeks on economics, new economic style which you never need capital, a totally new vision and has to be lectured against the capitalist doctrine.
One aspect in these type of comparisons isn't mentioned.
Whether the scientific-papers are mostly produced on national level or mostly in international collaborations.
Intra-EU collaboration is enormous in this regard.
UK's Academy of Sciences
Turkey has improved its scientific performance at a rate almost rivalling that of China.
(...)
China, Turkey, Taiwan, India, South Korea and Brazil produce over 70% of their publications from national researchers alone.
By contrast, small nations and less developed countries are collaborating at a much higher rate.
Over half of the research published from Belgium, the Netherlands and Denmark in 2004-8 was the product of multinational authorship.

Why don't you tell me how many Belgians work for NASA? How many Belgians are the heads of universities or faculties in the US, UK etc?
If we include the Greeks abroad then Greeks are big time when it comes to being academics. Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard, Stanford etc etc are full of ethnic Greek scholars. And so you know retardo-belgian, NASA is full of Greek-Americans.
As for Belgium.....Nigel Farage said it best: "Belgium? you don't even come from a real country!" hahah
Now piss off to rainy, crappy, boring Belgium.

btw, belgium is probably best known for crappy weather, no history and pedophiles. Maybe it's the weather or inbred genetics, but belgians are a sick twisted bunch.

They speak 3 languages have no history, some want to be Dutch, Some French, Some German. Crap weather and they cant drive for ****!
I was there a couple of weeks ago on a motorway out of Brussels where they had some roadworks, the matrix signs were showing lane closures and traffic, the weather yes was raining too. I slow down to a stop and someone goes into the back of me as he braked too late ended up with 2 lorries crashed into the back of him then into me at the front!! funny enough I didn't hit the car in front! I wonder why?
I realised then that Belgium isn't a place I would choose to visit for pleasure!
Talking about Belgian chocolates.
I have tried many but the best IMHO are Leonidas (a chain founded by Greek Leonidas Kestekides in 1913 "en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leonidas_(chocolate_maker)" with shops around the globe.
I always buy with be a box with fresh Leonidas pralines whenever I see a Leonidas shop in my trips.

My cousin , Theofrastos Koumarianos was an engineer at NASA till they closed down a few years back. He is now the head of quality control in his division of Northrop Grumman in Florida and held the same position at Boeing in Alpharetta Georgia in the Hercules C130 production, while he was waiting for the position at Northrop. He is a certified courier pilot, a gunsmith and he was also a mechanic for Porsche and BMW (although he despises the term "mechanic" and uses "technician" instead) when he lived here in NY. He is one of the most amazing people that I know. When he had an accident with his porsche 928 back in 87, it caught fire. Porsche wanted 10k just to do all the electrical of the car and another 20k for the engine. He purchased a used engine from Canada that had only 10k miles on it and installed it himself and did the wiring himself. ALL OF IT and there is ALOT OF IT , it looked impossible to fix to be honest. It cost him 8k for that, then another 5k for the body work (some guy named Attilio from Italy did it, he's amazing with this chit) When I saw the car after the accident I said to him " how the fk is anyone going to fix this thing?, it looks like it's ready for the junkyard"............not only did he fix it but it was better after he got through with it. The Canadian engine had an extra 40hp too.

These old tanks don't have additional costs and are good enough to fight Kurds by using her protection against sniper guns, her termal sight and cannon to blast them in pieces.
Would a malaka Grik understand that?"

"Your 'scientific' papers have been payed for by the Belgian taxpayer. Most of these papers are probably fraudulent aswell."
Belgian papers were payed by Germans and so on, that`s not a valid argument. Also if you believe
that "MOST" were fraudulent you heavily insult famous scientific journals that published them.
Those scientific journals are not like turkish people that believe every crap they`re told by Erdogan...
