As you know the ottoman empire was one of the greatest empire's of the middle east and balkans and had a very formidable army. And it was literally unstopable until it incorporated all of greece with the conquest of constantinople. Like any virus the greeks didn't affect the ottomans quickly, but in time the empire became sick and thus unable to cope with its rivals. Now that the turks are free from the greek virus again we see that it has one of the highest growing gdp's in the world. So what do you turks think about this view that the greeks were the reason the ottoman empire failed?

Not actually. The Sultans after Suleyman were much more busy with drinking eating and ******* then taking care of state . OTOH , Greeks were not the problem , as long as they paid their taxes , Istanbul didn't give a damn about them . Ottomans just conquered their land took taxes from them . didn't imposed Islam or destroyed their culture etc like most of the European Empires .

@ilgarD they were actualy more busy with traitors of the ottoman empire, even kemalists like mustafa kemal.

Kemalism ? Get your facts strait . That was non existent in Ottoman times . And Mustafa Kemal fought for empire Until Sevres.
