German daily says time for Greece to leave the euro

Greece is reaching the endgame next week, Germanys best-selling Bild newspaper said on Saturday.

Greeks are plundering their bank accounts, imports to the country are not longer guaranteed, rumors abound of drachma being printed and energy suppliers are no longer paid, Nikolaus Blome, Bilds chief political columnist, said in an editorial in Saturdays edition.

Greece is unraveling, its coming apart, Blome said. Irrespective of how the upcoming parliamentary elections turn out, business as usual wont work any more.

Billions of euros in more aid from Europe can help Greece through the next day, week or month, but it cant bring about the far more important new beginning thats needed in the economy, politics and administration. The Greek state must be rebuilt, like in a developing nation, he said.

Someone among the eurozone leaders must finally tell the Greeks the truth: this fresh start can only be achieved with a radical first step, he said. And that means leaving the euro.

Lets at least be honest.. Greece REGARDLESS of which way it votes.. will NOT be able to stay in the euro zone.. decades of austerity and depression cannot and MUST not be allowed to curse the nation..

Unfortunately, misguided politicians on BOTH sides.. Greece and Germany, think that the Greek people need to be enslaved in order to be saved..

This Bild Zeitung is very cheap, they are also saying some stuff to provocate dont give them to mutch intrest!
Greece will stay in the Euro, dont believe this horror scenario they try to tell us!

the turks say merkel is hitler....but the german media dont show this, only the negativ of greece
[linked image]

the germans should not say stuff like drachme because they must support the greek goverment, with the negativ and the propaganda againsst greece, germans making the anti euro people in greece stronger, big mistak , not only the credits help greece also the psychology, but the german media is very against greece, saying greeks are stealing money ...ect!

trying to make the german people to hate greeks, the media is the reason!

Greece will stay in euro and will be srong again!

...actually Hellenic.. the German government is against Greece.. and Merkel and Co, have used our troubles to domestically improve her chances of reelection.. has she OR any other government official come out in public to squash this talk?

NO!

The sooner you realise Hellenic, and come to grips with the fact that the Germans are NOT our friends.. the sooner you'll realise that Greece needs to move on, and away from the euro..

varagian i respect your opinion, and i know what the germans media say, because at this moment i am in germany wink.gif

Stay in Euro is better, because

with the drachme the unemployment rate will increase to 30%,
the pension will not be payed
the debts to the banks will increase
the imports will be expensiver
we will get no credits
also the rating agenturs will decrease us again
nobody will invest in greece

maybe i am wrong but think about it, if greece gets the drachme the next years 2-4 will be very poor, everything will colapse, maybe after this period we can have grow with a cehaper drachme in prodcution but...tell me how will the greeks survife this situation, because it will be poor no one will have money ..... i am telling you greece must be euro and change the plan continue with the programm but invest in markets! The structure we are getting are good but we must invest in Marktes, after the new goverment will be pro Euro this will happen!

Look at the facts people

All major economists have stated that the only way greece can recover is through growth.
Fact is the german plan has had the opposite effect, that is to say that they have contracted the economy making greece unable to service the debt and the germans insist on more of the same.
they threaten greece with dire consequence if greece leaves the euro
BUT what could be more dire than what greece is going through right now??
if greece stays this course listening to the bankers whilst ignoring all economic experts greece will simply not exists.
IT HAS BEEN PROVEN that germany owes greece a mjor debt.there is docementation that supports the greek position, docuementation that shows germany recognise this fact YET the greek politicians do not raise this with the germans and bankers.
Germany has stated that if greece demands the renumeration from them than germany will become belligerent towards greek positions particularly as regards the agean and its security concerns.thus it should be obvious to all that their plan is not to see greece recover but collapse.
many things can be gauged from the bailout agreement and pre requisite agreement for the bailout package.
1. it stipulates privatization to foreign cashed up european governments and coporations.in effect taking away a revenue source from the government
2. they demand lower tax for those greek businesses that they buy
3.they demand to buy what ever they want with no veto from the government, they state this in the form that no investments be turned down, if you are smart enough to understand what this means.
4.The demand that there be looser worker rights laws, what does this mean?
it means workers will not have entitlements.no overtime, sick pay,job security, workers exploitation is acceptable to them.
And all this so we can say"we use the euro"
when a handfull of people control the world economy, than all the economic misfortune is neither accidental or unforseen.its an intentional force that dictates to 7 billion people how they will live, how they will survive or not and in essense are modern day slaves.

If you would like to see greece as a slave then stay in the euro.if you would like to see greece ripped up and owned by bakers and foreigners ?,stay in the euro,if you want to see hellenes without any rights and continues hardship without any light at the end of the tuneel ?,stay in the euro.if you would like to see the rich become poor and the poor die?,stay on this path

what do i advocate?,a greece starting from scratch.a nation excersing her democratic rights and principles thats self empowered to act in her self interest and not the foreign bankers and governments.i believe a greece that will demand her unalienable economic rights from those who withold our dues and cause destruction upon the fabric of society.
i believe that the money trail needs to be purseued without delay.hundreds of billions of euros came to greece and was given back through the back door.some discoveries have been made to this affect unfortunately the swiss banking laws cloak the matter from being investigated all the while greek and cypriot banks are accused of mirkey practices and demanded to fully disclose whilst the giant swiss globals do otherwise.

people! better to screw the euro and the eu than screw our home and inheritance!!

Europe has three months to save the euro, billionaire investor George Soros said this weekend amid global pressure to end eurozone turmoil rocking financial markets and creating deep economic uncertainty.
"In my judgment, the authorities have a three months' window during which they could correct their mistakes and reverse the current trends," Soros said Saturday at an economics festival in Trento, Italy, naming those authorities as Germany and the Bundesbank.

"In a crisis, the creditors are in the driver's seat and nothing can be done without German support," he said, noting that public opposition to austerity in the eurozone "is likely to grow until the policy is reversed."

The remarks were posted on his website.

Greece is heading to the polls for a second time in six weeks after an inconclusive vote on May 6. And with the radical leftist Syriza party, chief opponent of a massive EU-IMF bailout accord, tipped to win this time, the election could lead to Greece quitting the single currency.

"I expect that the Greek public will be sufficiently frightened by the prospect of expulsion from the European Union that it will give a narrow majority of seats to a coalition that is ready to abide by the current agreement," Soros said, referring to June 17 polls in the debt-stricken state.

The "crisis is liable to come to a climax in the fall" of the year, he said.

"By that time the German economy will also be weakening so that Chancellor (Angela) Merkel will find it even more difficult than today to persuade the German public to accept any additional European responsibilities," said Soros.

"That is what creates a three months' window."

Soros, a Hungarian-American investor and philanthropist, said austerity measures were having a disastrous effect on the global economy.

"The authorities didn't understand the nature of the euro crisis; they thought it is a fiscal problem while it is more of a banking problem and a problem of competitiveness," he added.

"And they applied the wrong remedy: you cannot reduce the debt burden by shrinking the economy, (but) only by growing your way out of it."

04/06/2012 14:18Sydney, Australia. 4 June,2012

though i dont particularly like soros he is at least voicing the obvious for once.the germans sticking to their position whilst ignoring all reason and logic along with all the experts only re enforces the obvious that they are working to an ulterior agenda.so for those that are pussies to stand alone or for those so stupid that they cant see the trap that we are forced in, you are not alone, the greek parliarment and ruling parties are full of people with your mental capacity!!

"And they applied the wrong remedy: you cannot reduce the debt burden by shrinking the economy, (but) only by growing your way out of it."

...and there it is in a nut shell..

Defaulting and Leaving the euro is a radical move.. BUT necessary.. the only way we can institute reforms and grow the economy back to life, is by taking the initiative and defaulting..  trust me NO one will punish Greece and we still have influential friends in the USA and France and they have friends, and a rescue plan will be implemented.. Merkel might wanna pay God, but there are also reasonable and realistic people that know what is going on..

Of course, we will experience hardship until a balance and equilibrium is reached (as if we haven't these past 3 years)..

Anything has got to be better than the leaky "help" that the germans are slowly dripping our way..that in reality constitutes nothing less than "waterboarding"..

And i'll tell you guy's something else.. everyone in the euro zone, INCLUDING the Pro-Austerity Greek parties, know that Greece cannot go on like this for to much longer.. Merkel will sooner rather than latter have to bite the bullet and authorize the ECB to issue eurobonds.. EVEN the Pro-Austerity parties will be singing with Syriza off the same page.. after all, regardless of the past, they ALL want whats good for Greece..

It's a waiting game.. and if help doesn't come.. watch ALL parties create a government of national unity (like they should have from the start) and take the necessary default.. Trust me NO- ONE will be shocked OR surprised, least of all the markets..
