The economy in Greece and declining tourist numbers means many hotels in Greece have been forced to close.

According to the Greek Chamber of Hotels, 18 have already closed in Athens, while another 80 hotels have closed countrywide.

Uncertainty surrounding the fate of Greece in Eurozone lead to less tourists from Britain, Germany and Russia. Greece Tourism saw tourist arrivals dropped by 11.7 per cent in the first quarter of 2012.

Greeks were expecting a huge increase on tourism this year. According to them, January and February decrease was the reason of riots, nothing more.. But the first quarter has already been lost. What else?

I think the tourists who cancelled Greek vacations will choose Turkey as a safe destination.

But even this is a victory for greeks because the population rate between Greece and Turkey is 1/7. So everyone happy.
