Istanbul Shipyard began building Submarine Rescue Moship for the Turkish Navy

Here it says the ship will be able to reach depths up to 600 meters for rescue operations. It will have its own radar and sonar equipment for finding and tracking down the wreck. There will be six propellers providing stability and fixed position during rescue operations without anchoring.

Length => 90 Meters
Beam => 18 Meters
Height => 20 Meters
Crew size => 130

Also the ship will have a fully equipped operating room, diving and hyberparic chambers for divers.

The ship will be launched within 3 years.

Operational Capabilities Include:

Search and rescue up to and including sea state 6
Sea bottom imaging, high acoustic capabilities
Towed Side Scan Sonar (TSSS) operations
Detecting the distressed submarine
Position keeping at 4 knots current and sea state 4 with Class II Dynamic Positioning System
Providing life support to the crew including ELSS pod posting
External ventilation (up to 600 m. depth)
Dissub personnel rescue (up to 600 m. depth)
Transferring under pressure
Treating diving diseases with post modern decompression/ recompression pressure chambers and extensive hospital facilities
Twin interconnected, L-type SRV connectible pressure chambers for 32 rescuees
Acting as a medevac station with her heli-deck, capable of operating around the clock, up to sea state 4
A clear aft deck area of 650 m2
Operating with certified US SRDRS system with built-in A-frame of US SRDRS SRV and hydraulic/ telescopic crane of 35 tons capacity
Operating with certified NATO NSRS system
Atmospheric Diving Suit (ADS) operations
Submarine Rescue Chamber (SRC) operations
Personnel Transfer Capsule (PTC) operations
Remote Operated Vehicle (ROV) operations
Acting as a medevac station with her heli-deck, capable of operating around the clock, up to sea state 4

There is no self protection on this ship? I would expect at least STOP & STAMPs on it.

I think the first two CGI's include two Stamp stations above the fly bridges.

No more guns r needed 4 this ship.It is not only 4 Turkish but also will be helpful 4 Hellas Navy.God bless both of our sons.

I think there will be Squads of Sat Commandos in those ships. Also i dont think that those ships wont cruise without escort...

Having a ship like this is a good thing for Aegean and Meditteranean. But why on hell would it nees guns, it is to be used during peace time for gods shake.

There is no "peace time" between Turkey and Greece in Aegean Sea. There is always a possibility of Greek Navy terrorize our vessels.

STAMP exist because of terorism threat and piracy activities all over the world. So it is normal to have 2 STAMP.

My bad! I just checked the second post of Temren and couldnt see any Stamp there. In the first two, they are clearly seen on the compass deck. Sorry..
