I've been shocked. I didn't expect such a source, for the shooting down of the Turkish Jet.
The Syrian Arab Socialist regime is backed by China, Iran and Russia...
If Turkey and Syria fight, that'd be a world-conflict.
It'll have repercussions even on the Korean peninsula: North Korea supporting Baathist Syria; South Korea rather for Turkey.
What should Turkey do?
Retaliation by F16's. Bombing Syrian military points from northern Syria.

If you attack Syria, then Iran and Syria will recognize Kurdistan and supply the 20 million Kurds with heavy weaponry. The Armenians will ally themselves with the Kurds and they will invade. Based on the results of Nagorno, I think the Armenians will eat you for lunch since they are very tough mofos. Your Azeri cousins will sit this one out since the Russian Bear will be waiting in the wings.
The problem for you Turks is that you have enemies on every front. In the West Greece and Hellenic Cyprus, in the South Israel and Syria. In the East, Russia, Iran, Kurds, and Armenia.

The Syrians never said that they are "sorry", and how could they be? If you violate the territory of another nation amidst a civil war thats what is going to happen to you, Erdogan just said that in order to make things less painful concerning the reputation of the Turkish airforce.
I feel no pitty for the Turkish pilots , they were asking for it and they got exactly what they deserved my only concern is that as long as Greece is being ruled by cowards and traitors we will never see similar responses by the Greek air defence.
It is definetely a great humiliation for the Turkish airforce and the Turkish war machine, according to latest information Erdogan is going to call for a meeting at the security council where all military leaders and ministers will participate.
It will be interesting to see the response of Mongolia to this incredible humiliation, Turkey has been the terrorist of the mediterranin and the Balkans and now they are getting back something of what they deserve, im interested in their response after this vast humiliation.

Do not worry. Greece is preparing her armies to attack Syria for shooting down NATO "ally" Turkey's plane...lol.
Do you know who will help you? Not even God. Your stupid Arab government was playing with fire and now prepare to get burned. Iran and Russia will never allow you to harm their ally and it looks like a Russian ship already sent one of your planes for a dip in the Med.

^^ haha iran-iraq war?? Just because sandniggers shot down an old chit fighter?? (thank god the pilot survived). This was all probably a probing flight into Syrian air space to test their air defence systems. Probably a NATO mission assigned to Turkey. Now we have a legal right to defend ourselves and bomb the chit out of them. Could be the excuse we needed to knock out Assad.

Turkey has said it is now clear that Turkish fighter jet was shot down by Syrian security forces some 8 miles (13 kilometers) away from the Syrian town of Latakia over the Mediterranean Sea.
A statement released after the security summit headed by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoan, army generals and other ministers, bluntly said that it is now clear that the fighter jet was shot down by the Syrian side.
Erdoan earlier said it is not clear if a Turkish warplane reported missing near Syria was shot down by Syrian forces.

Let's start an air and sea blockade over Syria.
----------------------------------------------
bad idea , you will probably loose more planes for nothing
the best thing for you to do is to shallow everything and pretend that nothing has happened, even better to claim that it was a mechanical failure and the plane was never shot down
this way you will avoid further humiliations and your implication to a military adventure that will bring you only sorrow over your losses
Erdogan is clever man he will never try to play the tough guy over Syrians because he knows what is going to happen if you open another front while PKK has been decimating your army
However if he decides to do something which is not smart prepare to hear similar news about Turkish planes being shot down almost on a daily basis.

Plus, a Russo-Turkish War will involve NATO and turn into WWIII.
----------------------------------------------------------------
thats exactly why NATO will not try to escalate things they have an unstable situation at Middle East, they have hostile countries like Iran the last thing they want right now is to bring a giant against them together maybe with China because lets not forget that Russians have several alliances with China
the US and NATO have already many headaches to deal with, the last thing they want is to open new fronts over a lost plane of Turkey
thats why the US acted angrily over Syrians, they think and very correctly that now Turkey might try to get them into military adventures over an old Terminator which was lost,
most probably they will give advice to Erdogan to avoid escalating things, because they know where an escalation might lead.

Destroying civillian aircrafts? are you fukin insane? we have a dodgy leverage here ...we were in places we shouldnt be ...and they did something they shouldnt have done . Now calm the fuk down and think .Rather than listening to trollings of the Greeks ...who gives a fuk what a greek thinks ...
Right move will give us a great advantage .
We will move our forces to Iraqi border as if we are preparing for an invasion to Kandil ... wait for the Syrian government to give our pilots back (apparently they have them) If they hesitate for a second ...get in to northern syria bomb the **** out of military posts and create buffer zone for political refugee's
Mind that despite every Greeks talks about ownage here ...we have been supplying training and housing rebels of the syrian government for years now ... and they are quite pissed about it ... talk about ownage ...

Russians have much more intensive to be friends with Turks. They have oil pipe line and a lot of other industry and trade that is happening between those countries. If Syria really crosses the line and Turkey full on attacks Syria, Russia will do nothing.

Turks are barking right now because of the humiliation which they have tasted but when they think in a calm and objective way they will understand that their president most probably will receive orders from America to avoid any escalation.
The smartest thing for them to do right now is to shallow everything , to forget it and pretend that it never happened, most Turks in here know that no military operations in Syria can take place without the approval of uncle Sam.
So better shallow your stupid egotism and accept your humiliation, take it like men as the use to say or maybe i should say

GayWolf: Mind that despite every Greeks talks about ownage here ...we have been supplying training and housing rebels of the syrian government for years now ... and they are quite pissed about it ... talk about ownage ...
Let us set up the proper timeline:
1990-91 - The First Gulf War
Aftermath - 91-now - a defacto Kurdish state under very nominal Iraqi jurisdiction exists
2002 - The ArabKP dominates Turkish politics with an "economic miracle" funded by hidden influxes of "green money" from Gulf Arab states
Gulf Arabs are alarmed at the influence of Iran over their own and other Shia communities in the Arab world
2011 - Uprisings and insurgency in Syria. Though an Arab country most oil rich Gulf States support the rebels, alarmed at the Iranian power in the region.
2011-2 - Calling in a favor for all the money they paid down, Turkey supports the rebels in Syria, though it could create a power vacuum for Syrian Kurds to reach regional ascendancy.
That is pretty big ownage, the Gulf Arabs made you "conqueras3es" their b1tches. You are in a lose-lose-lose triangle. You support the rebels -- even if they win, Kurds will likely gain more power in any post-conflict settlement, which is bad for your internal Kurdish issue for the Kurds of Turkey to see those of Iraq and Syria with much more autonomy than them. If the rebels lose, Assad will look to retaliate against Turkey and you will have Syria and Iran looking to undermine your regional position.

1) Destroy the entire Syrian Navy in one night with a submarine attack.
2) Shoot down 1 Syrian aircraft (military or civilian) every week, for the next 5 years.
3) Blockade Syria's sea trade with unrestricted submarine warfare.

Best post in entire thread.
I would immediately sign under this with my name if I was in erDOGan's place.
I would also give TSK orders to mobilize mechanized units to the Syrian border. And to stay there until we've softened them up from air and sea. After that they roll in.

this is a great humiliation but it is nothing comparing to the humiliations that they have undergone due to the actions of a bunch of armed rebeles of PKK
lets not forget that they recently lost at least 2-4 choppers 100 soldiers and another one hundrend wounded ,, and now they will try to open a new front?
I dont think so Mongols are getting used to humiliations so they should think in a calm way accepting everything, their stability is more important than their bravado and stupid egotism
After all this is their own doing they shouldnt violate the Syrian airspace in the first place, so it is themselves who brought this situation upon them.
Anyway as i said nothing can be done without the approval of uncle Sam, needless to say that it is at the best interest of our country that Turkey will open another front especially if this confrontation will bring them one step closer to confront Iran, maybe Russia and other powers.
The more fronts Turks open the more opportunities for us to exploit in the future.

A recon aircraft along Syrian city that houses naval base, you get what you ask for. No hard feelings there. Syrians are pushed to a corner, they are fighting for regimes survival, they will do everything they can.

Forces that be are hard at work to decimate Erdogan's credibility as a "strong leader" in the eyes of the moderate segments of Turkey's public. And I think it's definitely working. People expect tangible action from Erdogan and he's not prepared to deliver it, neither on the PKK issue nor in Syria. If he keeps barking and refrain from biting for any longer 2012 may as well be the beginning of the end for AKP.

"Forces that be are hard at work to decimate Erdogan's credibility as a "strong leader" in the eyes of the moderate segments of Turkey's public."
I disagree Corpus.
Erdogan is surrounded by advisers and party members that are too scared to criticise him. No one in his inner circle dares to challenge him.
There are too many "sak sakci" in Turkey.
Erdogan is a clever man, but last 2 years he has never been given a reality check. AKP as an institution is very top down, Erdogan never receives feedback that would be seen critical.
Ultimately AKP fanboys, die hard supporters are doing more harm to him than good by not standing up against wrong policies.
If AKP's votes would drop by %5, or a member of cabinet take a stand against a wrong doing, he might get a wake up call. But everyone is so consumed with staying on his good side. Too much sucking up.
Do you think Erdogan would be quite if people swithced to MHP en masse, or a cabinet member or two quit over PKK attacks? No.

What amazes me the most is that there seems to be a gross lack of coordination and cooperation between the different elements of the Turkish government. General Ozel says a "permission" is needed for a full attack on Kandil. Erdogan says it wouldn't be needed but sounds like he's not sure. Newspapers report that a goup of 300 terrorists are surrounded by 4000 TSK troops, and then they reveal that only 50 something terrorists are killed. What happened to the rest, then? Did they evaporate?
Syria shoots down our jet and for the longest time we're not even SURE whether it got shot down or fell down due to a malfunction. Syria says its their airspace, TSK says it's not. We understand that it was shot down only after Syria says they did it. No retaliation. We couldn't even save our pilots yet and don't know what happened to them as of this writing. A couple months back Syria fires into Turkey and wounds a police officer. Again, no retaliation.
Terrorists walk into Turkey with heavy weapons like they're walking into a fvcking children's park. They kill our soldiers in their pisspoor makeshift outposts and they walk back into North Iraq as if they're returning from a fvcking morning excersize on the Santa Monica Beach. Turkey's "leaders" still ponder if they need a fvcking approval from anyone to order going after the killers of our children. It's a fvcking mess.
